First of all, I quite enjoy Relax Gaming games as they tend to have unique features, and Snake Arena is definitely not an exception. But secondly, I was very curious about this game due to its inspiration being the old-school mobile game Snake. 

As I mentioned, Snake Arena is a slot that takes inspiration from a very old mobile game called Snake. I'm sure that most of us remember playing Snake on our mobile devices where the snake had to feed and avoid running into it's own tail. As funny as it may sound now, I was obsessed with this game growing up and could spend hours playing it, so I was really excited when I found that there's a casino game with a similar concept.

When it comes to Snake Arena, it takes you to a place that reminds me of a dungeon. The slot has 5 reels and 5 rows and 30 paylines, but you can play it with as low as 10 cent stakes, which is great for low rolling. In the base game there's one feature, which can add wild reels on the screen. I've experienced this feature a few times and have to say that while it can give good base game hits, it doesn't appear too often. But I've had a few wins around 50x bet from it, so it can definitely boost the balance. 

Aside from that, there's also a free spins bonus which I'd rather call a bonus game and it's definitely very fun. If you land a snake on the first reel and a knight anywhere on the same spin, you'll get the bonus round. Or you can also buy it for 70x your bet, which is a good amount for a bonus buy. Then the game starts and the snake eats the knight and a new knight appears and the snake continues on feeding. However, the goal is for the snake to feed and not run into its own tail. There's two reasons why you want for the snake to eat and grow- the snake itself becomes wild and it's possible to get good winning combinations due to that. And the second reason is that if you manage to get to the top, you also get a 1000x bet win in addition. But I have to say, this is a very volatile bonus and for the most part my snake dies quickly and gives a win around 30x bet or 50x if I'm lucky. Only a few times I've had a win over 100x bet but not even close to getting that 1000x bet win. But I find the bonus round fun and definitely unique, which is refreshing to see.

Overall I do like this game, but I find the base game a bit boring, even with the wild reels feature. But the bonus round is exciting yet volatile. And while it's not in my Relax gaming favorites list, I appreciate the fact that this game brings back nostalgia and unique slot elements.

The Wild Chase feature consists of the snake peeking out from time to time from above one of the reels, and the knight peeking out from below. Well, the only setback is that all the win values of the regular symbols are very low, from 20x down to 2x the total bet for any 5 of them, and without any multipliers in the game, trying to win anything big can be very long-winded and tedious indeed.

Nonetheless, I have managed to get a nice 207x after a few sessions on the game, but I don’t think I would want to chase for any bigger wins. That 1000x award can stay hidden for all I care, hahaha.
