Santa's Wonderland is one of the latest game releases from Pragmatic Play game provider. As you can guess, it's a Christmas themed slot with Santa Claus himself being the main character. And I'm usually not a big fan of the festive theme slots, but lately I've been playing Pragmatic Play games quite a bit, so I was surprised to see what they've come up with.

From the first few spins I immediately noticed that the game is pretty much the same gameplay as Gems Bonanza slot. The slot has a cluster pays mechanic and you need to match at least 5 symbols for a winning combination. I have to admit, even though I'm usually not interested in Christmas slots, I quite enjoy the graphics and color scheme Santa's Wonderland has. And after experiencing the game features, I think this slot has a good potential to stay in my game list even after the holiday season is over. 

Just like with Gems Bonanza, this slot offers several base game features. On every spin, there's a few highlighted symbols and if they contribute to a win, you'll activate one of the features. The features include a giant symbol added to the reels, a refresh feature which refreshes the screen and new symbols land, Square feature which adds a square of matching symbols, wild feature and lucky wilds feature which turns one type of symbol into wilds. I have to say, just like with the Gems Bonanza, I dislike the refresh feature the most, as from my experience it feels almost pointless. I haven't had a single decent win from this feature and it usually pays 0. But my favorite is the Santa's Lucky Wilds, as it has definitely helped in filling up the meter to trigger the bonus round. Also I've had a few wins around 40x bet just from this feature alone. 

As I mentioned, this slot also has a feature meter, which lights up every time you get a win with a highlighted symbol. Also, every time you get a win, the meter will slowly fill up, so what you want to see is as many consecutive wins as possible. Since when you've filled the meter within a single spin, it will trigger the bonus feature. The feature then is a single spin where all 5 features from the base game are activated one after another. The goal is to fill the meter again as then the feature retriggers. However, the difference between Gems bonanza and Santa's Wonderland is that once you fill the meter, the feature starts with a 3x multiplier and then 6x multiplier and so on, while Gems Bonanza gives 2x, 4x, 6x and so on multipliers. I definitely like the fact that you can get bigger multipliers quicker, but it's definitely not an easy thing to do. From my experience, it's definitely a very volatile slot and it can easily give dozens of dead spins. I've even had sessions where I've lost 50 eur within half an hour on this game playing with minimum stakes. However, I do find the bonus round exciting, so far I've had my best win over 400x bet when I managed to reach the level 6 multiplier in the free spins. So it's definitely a game that has potential.

Overall, I quite enjoy this game, it has a nice and festive design and I like the bonus features. Interestingly enough, I found the Gems Bonanza base game a bit dull, while in this case I quite like it, I'm guessing it's because of the design. I only think that this is a game that can easily eat your balance, so I'd recommend to pay attention to your balance.

Santa's Wonderland is a brand new online slot which was launched this Christmas of 2021 by Pragmatic Play. The game is identical to previous games of pragmatic play. The only difference that I see is the name and the theme. As you can imagine the game's theme is all about Christmas and our beloved Santa. The game has a minimum bet of 0.20 € cents per spin which is good actually for the players that like to play on minimum bets. The game is easy when it comes to how it works and it will not take long for a player to understand it. The whole aim is to fill the progress bar on the right side. If the player fills it, he wins the free spins feature. In the feature, the game brings all 4 features it has, such as the wilds which spread randomly and the refresh feature which deletes every symbol on the reels. If the player manage to to fill the bar in the bonus game, the game will give an additional set of spins but this time multiplied by 3. This can be done many times from what I understood. To be honest, even though i am not a big fan of this game and how it works, I managed to land some nice wins in the base game. Another thing I would like to point out is that in case the player does not want to spend time spinning in order to trigger the free spins feature, he can buy it by paying a 100x of his initial bet.

I liked the game but I do not see myself playing it on a regular basis not because it is a Holiday game or anything like that, but because the way the bonus works seems to be somehow boring. But this is just a personal opinion. Other than that I did not find any other negative.
