Rich Wilde and the Aztec Idols is a 5-reel video slot by Play’n Go software provider that will take you deep into the jungle in search for hidden riches. The 3D animations, wilds, scatters, free spins, and a bonus game will draw you in this exciting adventure that has 15 paylines built in the ruins. Have a go on it right here for free, or go to Play’n go Casinos to play for real money.

Before starting your quest for ancient Aztec treasure, remember to set your bet. Pressing “Coins”, you select the number of coins wagered and “+/-” buttons will modify the coin value ranging from 0.01 to 0.25. Clicking the “Lines” button determines the number of active paylines. And if you want to spin on the highest possible wager press “Max Bet”. “Spin” starts the game, while “Auto Play” spins the reels multiple times uninterrupted.

Three Inca pyramids anywhere on the reels trigger the Pick-the-Idols bonus game. The game is simple, pick a symbol and each one awards you a surprise amount. If the Aztec Idol is booby-trapped and a cloud of poisonous gas is released, the bonus game ends.

On the other hand, the three sunstone symbols anywhere on the reels trigger the free spins feature. A sunstone will spin and stop, randomly choosing a number of free spins (up to 20) and randomly selecting one of the symbols of the reels to add as an extra scatter.

If you are feeling lucky, you can gamble your winnings by playing a simple card game. Simply guess the colour and the suit of the face-down card to double or even quadruple your winnings respectively. The game ends and you lose everything if your guess is incorrect. On the other hand, if you guess right, you can only play the gamble bonus round up to five times in succession, to a limit of 2,500 coins.

PlaynGo likes to use this Rich Wilde character in their games, as there are already quite a number of games of him, but this particular game is actually nothing more than a Book Of Dead clone, with a slight twist in it – it doesn’t offer any retriggers during the free spins, but offers a separate Bonus Game instead. Well, honestly speaking, I would prefer the retriggers option anytime!

There’s also nothing really attractive or special about this Rich Wilde And The Aztec Idols game – the graphics aren’t that great but are acceptable enough, the paytable is still good too, but I do find the Bonus Game a little bit boring and more of a let-down. It’s a pick-and-win sort of game, the kind that I don’t really like, unless if it’s a win-a-jackpot game, but this Bonus Game does offer a win of up to 150x the total bet, which, as I have found out later on, tend to elude being picked most of the times! Yeah, as expected, simply because the maximum win can only be won on rare occasions of course.

Playing the game isn’t that hard on the wallet, as it plays with 15 paylines with a 0.15 starting bet per spin. However, all my plays have not produced any good wins at all so far, sad to say, making me think that this Rich Wilde guy probably doesn’t like me at all. In fact, I have gotten similar measly results from all of his games, so really, I don’t like this Rich Wilde either! Hahaha.

Ah well, I may not like the game, but I guess many others would like it, no doubt about that, just as it is with the Book Of Dead game too. And frankly, I also really don’t know why I simply cannot get any good wins from this guy either, in spite of my numerous attempts at it, so nowadays, whenever I see Rich Wilde, I tend to avoid him, hehehe.

Rich Wilde and the Aztec Idols is a video slot game that uses ancient South American culture and of course the never ending search of old and forgotten treasures. This is a game from Play N` Go that I play from time to time. I like the game play and the features can be rewarding at times, but most of all because the base game is entertaining to me.

Rich Wilde and the Aztec Idols is a 5 reels and 15 pay lines video slot game. The graphics are really nice, not extraordinary, but nice. There are a couple of important symbols in this game and they are the wild symbol which is the Rich Wilde, then the golden pyramid bonus, and this symbol appears only on the third, fourth and the fifth reel, and the sunstone which is the scatter symbol.

There are two main features in the Rich Wilde and the Aztec Idols slot and I definitely prefer the free spins feature. On my first session I managed to activate the free spins feature very fast, and couple of times later as well. I got 3 sunstones on the first, third and the fifth reel. Every time I was getting a different number of free spins and a different symbol which acts as a scatter. Every time the win was around 50 x bet. It was a quite balanced win which was boosting my balance from time to time.

The other feature is called Pick The Idols and to activate this one you need 3 golden pyramids. You need to pick your idols until you find the one that contains a poison gas which means the bonus is over. I never won anything higher than 10 x bet during this feature. In general I do not like this features because I think that I am not lucky when I need to pick something.

Rich Wilde and Aztec idols is powered by play n go with 15 paylines. Wherever Rich Wilde is involved, you must know triggering any bonus or free spins feature is very difficult. This slot has decent graphics but could be better and the animation is also good whenever Rich substituted in a winning combination.

Rich Wilde himself act as wild of course and landing 5 wild symbols pays x5000 your line bet. Wild substitute for all symbols except bonus and free spins scatter symbols. This game has 2 features which is a bonus feature and a free spins feature.

Landing 3 golden pyramids symbols on reels 3, 4 and 5 will activate the bonus feature. You will be taken to a screen where you will be presented with idols and you need to pick them to reveal coins. You will pick and win until you select that idol that has the green poison and the bonus feature will end.

Landing 3 scattered free spins symbols on reels 1, 3 and 5 will activate the free spins feature. An ancient wheel will spin to select the amount of free spins won as well as the extra scatter symbols which will be used during the free spins feature. The free spins feature is similar to the book or ra or the book of dead, so which means chances for winning big is good. The only thing I do not like about this slot free spins feature is that you it cannot be re-triggered.

I lost an insane amount of money on this slot. You know when you keep on losing and you have that feeling that you will trigger the free spins feature soon and make up for all the losses. Well this is how I lost $50 or more 3 times in 1 day in a very short time frame. I managed to hit the free spins eventually but J was the chosen symbol and I only 4 of kind twice during the feature which means the end result was not satisfying. I will one day come and make a big hit and take all my money back.

I do not think anyone ever complain about the look of games created by Play'n GO, their designs are always impeccable and usually attractive aspect, and that is also the case of "Rich Wilde and the Aztec Idols," a slot of 5 x 3 reels and 15 paylines inspired by the religious foundations of the ancient Aztec civilization that inhabited the area of Central America.

DISLIKED

What I complain is about so few opportunities that this slot gives players to make a profit, which by the way I consider minimum, and that ultimately is a factor that makes this game becomes too boring because of the continual frustration caused by tiny payouts consistently obtained that practically usually lead to nowhere and that eventually they are able to destroy the optimism of the player, and I can see in this a clear attempt to manipulate feelings of the player making you believe you’re winning all the time when the reality is that your balance is always decreasing slowly but systematically; to understand this we must consider a couple of points, the first one is that this game is configured with a sound effect that sounds violins whenever any hit comes, and the second aspect to consider is that four high symbols of the game pay for combinations of 2 of a kind, payouts that are tiny as expected, but the result of the combination of these two aspects is that the player is listening these violins all the time what suggests he is winning when in fact, the vast majority of times, he is losing a little at every turn; It should be noted that to obtain a combination of 5 of a kind with a high symbol is a rarity, even not very common to get combinations of 5 of a kind with low symbols, although occasionally it happens, so that during the most of spins, our winnings do not cover the value of our total bet, others you do not get hits, and during other spins you get combinations of 3 or 4 of a kind with earnings slightly above the total stake, and we must add that getting a single free spins round is a colossal task in this game, and I have played this slot several times and for long enough as to have managed to trigger this round at least 4 or 5 times, but although it may seem an exaggeration I've never managed to do this, and that's why I cannot comment about how this feature is; another feature is one where you have to click on some idols of gold, it is a little more affordable but I neither could say it is often activated, and prizes I have been achieved in this round they have not been significant because I always choose the wrong idol in my second shot.

In this slot, I like the design, sound effects and nothing else, respecting other opinions, to me, "Rich Wilde and the Aztec Idols" is far from being the best slot created by Play'n GO.

The very first time I played with this slot it very reminded me of NetEnt style and not just graphically but for example the displaying format of paytable is very similar. Anyway, it doesn’t matter actually who created this slot I like what I see here. Of course the slot deals with great and rich culture of South America and this specific nation and I must say it’s a very authentic representation of the adventure feeling what the game tries to suggest. The symbols, the relics, the decorative motive are all captivating and really form a real visual unit that I always like to play with and basically the whole atmosphere what the game creates are respectable. It’s an overall error free, nice and very decent work from Play’n’Go and I suppose if I was in charge to make a slot game around this theme I would imagine a very identical interface for this slot.

But I would assign more paylines for this game not just 15 because I think at least 25 lines would fit to it better and I also would love to see that the Wild would have win multiplying ability too, but other than that the whole game segment, the features are very solid and I’ve got nothing against them. This mentioned Wild symbol (Rich Wilde character) is also the best paying symbol if it forms a 5 of a kind win and then 5000 coins are credited and I can say it really does its substituting task as luckily it surprisingly often appears on the reels helping out the combinations.

Though the Scatter hasn’t got traditional own rewarding ability but it pays 5 times of total bet if 3 of them become visible on the first, third and last reels at the end of a spin and it triggers free spin feature. Before the game actually starts the Sunstone symbols is starting to spin to reveal the given number of free spin (10-20) and a randomly chosen symbol which will act as an Extra Scatter during free games. It means that every win with it will pay as normal but this time the won amount will be determined by multiplying not with line bet much rather by total bet. This is not a bad free spin session and fortunately this pre-selected symbol often brings some great profits as well the more frequently appearing Wild.

Getting 3 Golden Pyramid symbols on the last three reels take us to a very nice secondary screen inside the pyramid where we have to choose from 5 golden statues until green smoke is revealed and all successful selections reveal instant bonus prizes. Though the won bonus credits are multiplied by the coin value at the end of the session and the maximum we can win here is 150 times of total bet but based on my experience it’s not as profitable or exciting side game what I would want to see but I still consider it as a solid extra session. The game also offers a classic colour/suit type gambling feature too, which is not the best on the market but it still can be useful at times.

Overall, this is a great product with very correct game settings and respectable paying ability but I find here also very important that the game can create an awesome atmosphere and I really like to play with it. Though there are some minor issues with the game (wild doesn’t have win multiplier power, the free spins should be triggered more often, the side game can be a little bit more challenging) but it is a very well done work by Play’n’Go and all I can say is I like to see more games on the market like this where rock solid game qualities meets with attractive interface and all of it is wrapped in a very fair environment.
