There was a time some years ago when I really enjoyed playing Thunderkick’s games. That was way back when Fruit Warp was released and I simply loved playing it. In fact, I still enjoy playing it occasionally now. Then came a time when Thunderkick started releasing some horrible games instead and I soon stopped playing their games on a regular basis. One of those games is this Raven’s Eye game.

I have played it when it was newly released, but found the game to be unlike any other Thunderkick’s game. Raven’s Eye has a mixture of a few games combined into one, but as they say, ‘too many cooks spoil the soup’, and this is exactly the case in Raven’s Eye. The pay table is simply horrible, with almost extremely low win values for all the symbols, with the two highest paying symbols, the Wild and the Lady symbol, paying only 12.5x the bet amount. The other symbols pay from a mere 4x down to just 1x.

The Raven is a Stacked Mystery and Bonus symbol, needing the Raven symbols to land on any 3 reels to activate a Bonus game. The Raven symbols also transform into one regular symbol during play, and each Raven symbol awards 1 free Bonus Spin when they land on 3 or more reels. The number of free spins therefore depends on the number of Raven symbols on the 3 or more reels, but tends to award 9 Ravens most of the time.

During the Bonus game, each appearing Orb is collected into a meter, and when that meter is filled, it transforms that symbol into a Wild or into another higher regular symbol. Sounds familiar right? Yes, that makes it possible to get all same 20 symbols on the reels, but the very low win values of the symbols would hardly ever give any good wins! During my latest play session some months back, I managed to get 3 Bonus games, but only after many disappointing waiting moments, yet the Bonus games paid unbelievably low wins of 2x, 9x and 6x, in that order! That were simply atrocious payouts!

My very low best win of 36x came in the base game, not in the Bonus game, and with such horrible payout characteristics, I can safely say that this Raven’s Eye game is simply not worth playing at all, and is one of the worst game ever released by Thunderkick!

Raven’s Eye the latest release from Thunderkick and honestly, I feel they could have done so much better with this slot, giving it an upgrade to their latest editions. This slot is played on a 5 by 4 grid and comes with 30 paylines. This Celtic themed slot benefits from mystery ravens that change into other symbols for enhanced wins. If you remember Thunderkick's dragon horn or flame busters slot then you know what to kind of expect from this slot.

Visually, the slot looks great set in the Celtic type of background with a peach full sound track. The slot has the standard card deck symbols and 4 elements earth, water, fire and air. There’s also a mysterious female character who is the most valuable symbol giving you 1, 2 or 12.5 times your stake for 3, 4 or 5 respectively. This symbol offers the same payout as the wild symbol and wild substitutes for everything except the scatter.

Raven’s Eye comes with Raven Mystery symbols feature. When it appears, it will be replaced by another symbol including the wild. Basically, it gives you the chance to win bigger. If you land mystery symbols on 3 reels, then you would trigger the bonus game feature. You are awarded with a set amount of spins depending on how many ravens landed on the reels. I think 9 spins is the minimum.

During free spins raven orbs are collected to fill the symbol meters. When a meter is filled, the symbol becomes a mystery symbol for the remainder of the feature. This only applies to the card deck symbols. You will get extra spins once a symbol had been transformed to a mystery symbol. You can retrigger the feature up to 5 times giving you up to 15 extra spins. Once you have all 5 symbols as mystery symbols you can win up to x375 your total stake per remaining spin.

I think this slot would have had a much better potential since it has the same playout as Flame Busters and Dragon Horn, if they were to make it a all ways pays. Which means you have a potential to win up 4096 ways. All their games with the upgraded levels, are maximum 243 ways and they are very popular. Limiting this slot to 30 pay lines was a mistake. They should have just make it 4096 ways to pay and it would have been a winner.
