Slot Features
Ogre Empire has 2 different playing modes: Day mode and Night mode. The Ogre brings on his destructive behavior during the day, but when he goes to sleep, the entire town comes alive. Each of the two has its set of features.
Apart from Day Mode features and Night Mode features, Ogre Empire slot has a regular Wild symbol which can substitute for all symbols in the game except for the special night and day Wilds, and Sun and Moon symbols.
Day Mode
When the large Sun symbol rises completely on the reels, Night will turn to Day, and it will be time to try your luck with the Ogre. This can earn you x4 your total stake.
Sun Bloom Wild Flower feature is a unique Day Mode symbol. It will grow onto nearby symbols turning up to 3 additional symbols Wild.
Daytime Ogre Smash feature also takes place during daytime only. In this feature, the Ogre may smash the reels in a fit of rage. Once he does, stone symbols will be crushed, and new symbols will fall into place, awarding new wins.
Night Mode
Capture the large Moon symbol completely on the reels, and set the townspeople free in the Night Mode. You can earn x6 your total stake in this mode.
There are 3 symbols which are appearing only during the night. The Joker, the King and the Queen will come out of hiding during night, and they will bring merriment and Big Wins with them. Joker appears behind the A symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4, and once it appears, it will act as x2 Wild.
Night Bloom Wild Flower glows in the dark, and it can expand anywhere on the reels, turning up to 3 other symbols Wild.
Double Up
After any winning combo you land, you can choose to double up your wins. Bet half of your wins, or all of it, and flip the coin. You can choose either Heads or Tails, and if you win, it’s all yours. Be brave and try to double up your fortune.
Summary
Visual and audio effects in Ogre Empire slot are top-notch, and the in-bonus features are excellent, but we never expected anything less from Betsoft Gaming. This medium variance slot is simply something that you should not miss on.
Somewhere out there in some faraway unknown land, there is a realm whereby all the citizens would sleep in the daytime and would only come out to play during the darkness of the night. That’s because during the daytime, Ogres rule the land, so all citizens have to stay inside to be safe. Very strange indeed right? Yeah, and that’s what this Ogre Empire game is all about.
To say that Ogre Empire is a simple and straightforward game, it isn’t, simply because the gameplay isn’t that simple, and need some getting used to, before the various features can be fully understood or appreciated. Basically though, the game plays with 25 paylines in one of two interchangeable modes – Day Mode or Night Mode. There aren’t any Free Spins game, and almost all wins are without any win multiplier, except when playing in the Night Mode! Sorry, but these aren’t to my liking at all!
In the Day Mode, the Ogre my randomly hit the reels at any time, crushing all stone symbols, and new symbols would then cascade down, creating new winning possibilities. Nope, there aren’t any increasing multipliers as in Gonzo’s Quest! The Wild Flower symbol can also generate extra wins by transforming up to 3 new Wilds on nearby adjacent symbols. In the Night Mode, the Ogre goes to sleep, and the Royal Family comes out to play, including the Jester, the one and only 2x Wild symbol in the entire game! The Wild Flower can also generate up to 3 new Wilds as in the Day Mode, but at night, the new Wilds can be anywhere on the reels. Each mode is activated by getting the full reel Sun or Moon symbol (partial appearance don’t count), with an instant cash win of 4x or 6x the bet amount respectively. Other than these 2 Mode features, there is literally nothing else exciting to be had from Ogre Empire!
Playing the game proved to be a very long-winded process indeed for me, in the sense that my credits balance was going up and down like a yo-yo most of the time, without getting any decent or sizeable wins at all. Most of the wins would be less than 5x the bet amount, getting any 10x wins was damn hard enough, and my best win of 34x only came after so many hours of tiresome and boring spinning! This is definitely one more game from BetSoft to be avoided, for me at least!
