There can only be one big monkey on top of buildings, and that is King Kong. The usual monkeys would only go on top of houses and residential buildings. They don't go visiting any Metropolis or big cities. Well, not that I know of anyway, and they'd probably get crushed by some vehicle first. So this monkey game, coming under Microgaming list, may have been based on that big monkey, and this big monkey is getting to be very greedy indeed with those green stuff. Not the bananas. The Green Bucks. Yeah, it's a money mad monkey alright. Wonder if those green bucks taste as good as bananas! Hahaha.

This game isn't a new one, but isn't an oldie either, but I like the the vibrant and colourful icons used in the game, especially against that black background. It makes the overall screen look very nice, colourful, vibrant, yet simple without being cluttered. And I love those big icons too. I can play the game, sit back and relax, and watch it from farther back, without having to sit very close to the screen to watch damn small icons spinning and stopping. Oh, I simply hate those!

The Banana is the Wild symbol in the game, with a big 'WILD' word on it, and very nicely presented. 5 of these pay a marvelous 10,000x the line bet. The Wild symbols may appear stacked at times, but not always, and it substitutes for other symbols except for the Scatter and Bonus symbols. However, it doesn't double wins with it, and that's a letdown to me. Money is the Scatter symbol, a dumb symbol, not paying anything for itself, and appears only on reels 1, 3 and 5. Getting all 3 Scatters trigger the Free Spins game. Pick one of the Money symbols to reveal either 5 free spins with a 8x multiplier, 10 free spins with a 4x multiplier, or 20 free spins with a 2x multiplier. The best of the 3 feature games, but very difficult to get. As for the other symbols, the stacked logo symbol pays 2000x, the Keeper pays 1000x, the Calculator pays 500x, and the rest pay from 100x to 25x, all per line bet for getting 5 of each kind. If not for the non-paying Scatter and Bonus symbols, this would have been a good paytable instead of being just an average one. Too bad.

Well, what I don't like about this game is that I couldn't get a big win from it! Hahaha. However, my one and only session on the game was fairly good, getting an extended playtime from one deposit, and getting 5 Free Spins games, 5 Barrel Bonus games, and luckily getting 1 Trail Climb Bonus game nearing the end of my play. The graphics are very simple and the game looks like an old fashioned slot machine. The sound effects are not impressive at all too. This game has very good pay outs during the bonus rounds, and they are very easy to trigger. It is not like some other game where you have to wait for ages and only then to find out that it was a waste of time.

I triggered the bonus round with four bonus symbols after only 30 spins and then I had to press spin and one character was going up the ladder to collect coins. I do not know how many times I had to press spin because the number was changing and I got 35.50 euros but I did not get what really happened during this bonus round at the time. Then the next time I triggered the bonus I realized that you are collecting barrels of money and once you roll a “stop” the bonus is over. I was always getting prizes that were going up to 100 x bet during this bonus round. But the base game is very boring and the payouts are not very good.

There is another bonus when 3 barrels appear on the reels and you have to pick one to see what kind of prize is hiding. I chose the one in the middle and I got 25 euros. But I did not see what prizes the other barrels were hiding because the amount is very confusing here. It is written like it is a multiplier and I thought that I got x 25 multiplier on the next spin but then I realized that I was wrong.

I don’t know whether the story of King Kong inspired the theme of this slot but probably not as we get here a little story of an escaped monkey is chased by zookeeper and otherwise it absolutely doesn’t matter because I really love how this game looks like. Very interesting but every time when I play this game I always feel the cheerful atmosphere the game creates but looking at the symbols none of them are really funny or humorous so I think the great design, the used great colours, the pictorial world are all taking the responsibility to create so impressive environment all together and that’s really cool. I also like the little imaginative solution how the main function buttons are illustrated as hydrant, drain cover which really fits the overall picture well and all I can say I’m surprised but really satisfied with the interface of the game and think Microgaming really made a good job with it.

This 20-payline slot offers 3 different bonuses which are quite good and very usable but playing with the game without getting any of them, the slot still has the ability to act as a great gambling partner as the normal game is also possesses nice attributes. The Banana symbol is the most paying emblem if it comes in enough numbers when 10.000 coins are credited and it also acts as Wild to replace and help other symbols in winning combinations but not giving anything to win amounts. For me it’s a little strange that not Monkey character got such kind of functionality but it’s really not an important thing at all.

The potential is there to win big, the bonus games though they’re not too exciting but have more than fine rewarding ability and the general payout of the winning combinations and their appearing tendency are also among the ones what I could appreciate and respect. Microgaming made a very complete game with Money Mad Monkey and even if I have some very little issues about the game but at the end of the day we all can agree that this is a rock solid slot which is at least for me could give some enjoyment and where I never mind if I play at.

First bonus game is trail bonus game, you thrown dices, and move upper and upper. Game said that if you manage to be reach finish, you get final prize. This prize should be big,but i never reached end on this bonus game. Second bonus game is typical pick me game, nothing interesting. And freespins feature, which is triggered by 3 scatters. Then you need to pick scatter, and get 20 x 2 FS, 10 x 4 FS, or 5 FS but with huge 8x multiplier.
I tried this game couple of times, but never bet too much, but my experience with this slot is good, once i was able to start with only 20$, and playing about 40 minutes, increasing my bet after reaching certain points of my balance, and i finish with 150$ on my balance, not so bad, and withdrawal was done.

I have to say that I have been playing for two years in many casinos that offer Microgaming slots. I saw this game only a few days ago in Splendido Casino. In probably 99% of the casinos I play in I use download software. It is possible that this game only comes in the instant play version. I’m not sure about that but before I started this review I checked the software from 32 Red Casino and didn't find it there.

The game itself looks like a slot machine you can find in many land based casinos. It is best noticeable by the animations that imitate light effects which you can see on these machines if you have a win. This is the first time I have seen an imitation with a slot game that has 20 paylines. So this was my first time seeing this game and after half an hour of play nothing. I didn't have one win bigger than my bet.

Disappointed I moved on to other slots and decided to come back here later. Finally a descent win if you can call it that. On my 0.2 bet I won 1 euro per spin. Very little but I was hoping for some bonus or free spin. That didn't happen. Again I spent about half an hour here and I didn't get the free spins or one of the two bonuses that Money Mad Monkey has to offer. Really incredible. This hasn't happened to me yet with any other slot game. I lost my patience and moved on to other slot games promising myself I would never come back here again.

Maybe Money Mad Monkey deserves another chance and it is possible that I played it in the worst possible moment. I was so disappointed with this game that I will probably never come back and play again.
