During my second session of this game, there were no free spins to be seen. I like one thing more about this book compared to the other types is that the more times you re-trigger the feature the more symbols you then get as expanding scatters. This is a bit of a unique variation of this type of slot and you can get all the symbol types for massive wins and there are nine of them. I have seen someone getting all 9 symbols so it is entirely possible how rare probably very rare. Hopefully, in my future sessions I will get some big feature wins with multiple re-triggers wouldn’t that be great.

Legacy of Dead aka "Rise of Merlin goes to Egypt" is Play n' GO's take on the Merkur classic Magic Mirror Deluxe II. With an inspiration like that, the result can't go completely wrong in terms of potential, and Legacy does not disappoint in relation to its origin.

The basic idea is about the same as Magic Mirror Deluxe II: Hit the bonus and retrigger as much as possible to unlock the vast potential, as you get an additional expanding symbol each time you land 3 or more scatters. Along the way you have a very volatile basegame, that can be dry as a mummy or might grant you some nice hits, in the same manner as a traditional book game.

There are a couple of important differences. Apart from the top symbol, the pharaoh, payouts for full lines are only 80% of the usual awards: A full line of kings pays only 12x instead of the traditional 15x, a full line of Anubis (2nd best symbol) pays only 160x instead of 200x and so on.

The number of free spins are reduced in the same manner: You get 8 initial spins instead of 10, and this applies to the retriggers as well. On the sunny side, Legacy of Dead feels a lot easier to bonus than its obvious inspiration, Magic Mirror Deluxe II, at least that's my impression. LoD's overall RTP of 96,58% could indicate this (MMD II has 95,63% in comparison).

Anyway, apart from a few dislikes, this slot - as well as the Merlin themed version - is a worthy addition to the Play n' GO portfolio, at least in my humble opinion.

As a seasoned Book of Dead player, it is hard to get used to the new order of the symbols in terms of payouts - Anubis is now 2nd best symbol, while poor Pineapple Head has been demoted.

And generally I have to ask, if all the recent Egyptian themed slots from Play n' GO are really necessary? I mean, we've now got Legacy of Egypt, Legacy of Dead, Rise of Dead and Doom of Egypt. Apart from Legacy of Egypt they are all just re-skins of already existing slots. I personally fail to see the point.

Legacy of Dead is one of the newest slot games released by Play'n Go game provider and I discovered it about a week ago. I'm a fan of Play'n Go and many of their games are my favorite online slots so I was eager to see if I'd like this new game too. Having played it a couple of times now, I have a bit of mixed feelings.

So the game itself has 5 reels and 10 paylines and the inspiration comes from the Ancient Egypt theme with mummies as high paying symbols. I do like the design as it's a combination of Book of Dead, Legacy of Egypt and Doom of Egypt. And with that being said, the design is beautiful and eye-catching and graphics are clean. But with that in mind, the reason why I'm having mixed feelings is due to the fact that it has only one bonus feature- 8 free spins triggered by 3 scatter symbols anywhere on the reels and the bonus feature is exactly the same as Rise of Merlin. You get one random symbol before the free spins that would expand when appearing on the free spins, and if you retrigger the feature, you get 8 extra spins as well as a new expanding symbol. 

Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the fact that you can retrigger the feature and get a new symbol and based on my experience thus far, the retrigger is when you can expect nice wins as 8 free spins without multiplier doesn't have too much payout potential unless you get a full screen of the highest paying symbol. In my experience the free spins aren't too difficult to trigger and the average payout I have had is around 50x bet, without retriggers. I've managed to retrigger the free spins a few times now and had a highest win of 150x bet. 

Overall I think this is a nice slot, I love the graphics, the bonus feature is good too and I like that it has low minimum bets as it fits my bankroll. The only thing I dislike is the fact that design aside, it's exactly the same game as Rise of Merlin. I wish they would release something more unique.
