Jumping Jaguar

Honestly speaking, I can say that most of Rival games do not look as good as other provider's games, but this Jumping Jaguar certainly caught my attention with its beautiful graphics and quality of presentation. You may think that it's a BetSoft or NetEnt game! The colours are very vibrant, catching anyone's attention at first glance, and the symbols have been done beautifully too. Hmm, this is, to me, the best looking game from Rival so far! However, best looking doesn't mean best game play, as I soon found out!

Jumping Jaguar plays with 30 paylines with a $0.30 starting bet size. Not really to my liking, because for $0.30 bet per spin, I could be playing on a 243-ways-to-win game instead, so perhaps Jumping Jaguar should have stuck with just 25 paylines to be more meaningful. The black Jaguar is the Wild symbol, a non-paying symbol, argh, but doubles all wins with it and expands into a full Wild Reel too, so that should compensate a bit. Appearing on reels 1, 2, 3 and 4, the possibility of getting 4 Wild Reels in this game is there, which should produce some good wins, but only if you can get them that is. I certainly couldn't, hehehe.

The Scatter symbol is also a non-paying symbol, another argh, and getting 3, 4 or 5 of these Scatters would award 5, 10 or 15 free spins with a 3x multiplier. What? Only 5 free spins with 3 Scatters? The free spins are not even guaranteed-win spins, so getting only 5 free spins is very disappointing indeed! In fact, as I soon found out, I even got a big zero win in one of the few Free Spins games that I had manage to get, and under 10x total bet wins from the others! Rival game designers should really learn from Play'nGo games that 5 free spins are best when they are guaranteed-win spins in order to really attract the punters!

The highest paying symbol in the game pays 2000x the line bet for getting 5 of them, or 66x the total bet, which is actually not that bad, but the rest pays down to 20x line bet for the lowest symbol. Personally, I find that the non-paying Wild and Scatter symbols had spoilt the paytable, bringing it down to low, almost very low! In true reflection, the game play and pay suffers quite a lot, and I found it very hard indeed to even get a 50x total bet win from the Free Spins games. My best win, after several separate attempts, was only 62x!

What about the Wild Reels? Yes, I did get 3 Wild Reels in one of the free spins, but it paid peanuts! That's because the fourth reel didn't have any winning symbols, so all I got from the 3 Wild Reels were 3-of-a-kind wins. That's not what I would ever want with 3 Wild Reels, but that's how any game would go anyway. You need to be very lucky to reap a good win with either 3 or 4 Wild Reels, but it's not impossible to achieve nonetheless. I wish Jumping Jaguar could have been much better for me, but it didn't.
