John Hunter and the Tomb of Scarab Queen is quite a new game release from Pragmatic Play. I haven't been a  big fan of Pragmatic Play but I do think they have a couple of good slots, so when I first tried this game at Videoslots, it really got my attention for various reasons.

When it comes to theme, this slot has the quite typical adventure, ancient Egypt theme which has been seen many times but design wise I think they've done a good job the graphics are very neat and the color scheme is eye-catching. But what really excites me about this game is the gameplay itself, there are base game features as well as free spins bonus round. The game has 5 reels and 25 paylines and the minimum bet you can place is 0.25 cents per spin.

So it's not the first time when I see cash symbols and collect symbols from a Pragmatic Play slot, but here the difference is that there are also re-spin collect, expanding collect and collect multiplier. Due to these features, I have managed to get several 50x bet wins on the base game. I especially enjoy the multiplier collect symbol which can add the multiplier to the cash symbols. In my last session I got several of those features that helped me to quickly boost my balance.

Another really interesting feature is the free spins bonus round. You can get it by catching scatter symbols on reels 2, 3 and 4 and for that, you get 10 free spins. One thing I've noticed is that the best part of the free spins is the super collect feature. For the most part, the free spins don't really pay much themselves as there's no added multiplier, so it's basically 10 free spins on a base game. But every time a cash symbol comes up, it will be added to the super feature and when the free spins are over you get a stacked super cash symbol and if "collect" symbol drops, you get the cash prize of all the cash symbols you collected during the bonus round. Usually, the amount ranges from 50x-100x so it's not very easy to land it, but in my last session, I managed to get a 100x bet win on the free spins and then I landed the collect symbol on the last spin for another prize of nearly 100x bet.

Overall I think this is a really exciting game with great winning potential and enjoyable gameplay. One thing I have to say is that while it can be a great balance booster, it is also quite volatile. If you don't get many of the collect symbols on base game, it's not easy to get a decent win on base game itself. But so far it's one of my favorites from Play'n Go and I definitely will keep playing this slot.
