John Hunter and the Book of Tut is a classic book-type slot from Pragmatic Play. I might be wrong but I believe it was one of their first games that included a bonus buy feature. The slot is inspired by Ancient Egypt theme and includes their famous John Hunter as the main character.

At first glance I wasn't too excited to try this game as it seemed like something that's been done before. And that's quite true. The game is a classic book slot with 5 reels and 10 paylines and the only bonus feature is a free spins bonus round, triggered by book scatters. But with that being said, I think it's a good option if you enjoy book slots. I've played it many times and I enjoy the fact that it is so simple in it's design and features yet it has good winning potential.

For 3 scatters you get 10 free spins with a special, expanding symbol. My experience with the bonus round is that for the most part I would get a letter symbol as the special symbol, but even then you can get a decent balance boost, as a full screen of Aces pays 150x. I haven't had any big wins with the John Hunter symbol but I've had a few 300x bet wins from other top symbols. Because of this bonus feature and the simple design it has become one of my favorites from Pragmatic Play.

All in all, this is a classic game- the design is nice and while it's not feature rich, it has good winning potential. Also I've tried buying bonuses and the average return I have had was about 50x-80x bet.
