Hammer of Vulcan is a Quickspin powered video slot which features 6 reels and 4096 paylines. This mythology themed slot is inspired with the Roman deities, namely the god of fire and flames, and takes all that only to combine it with heavy metal sounds playing in the background. The adventure is taking place below Mount Etna, so get ready for the journey to the coast of Sicily here for fun or at any Quickspin Casino to play for real.

Slot Features
The God himself is the Hammer Wild symbol and then there’s also the regular Wild in there. Hammer Wilds convert themselves and all symbols that find themselves under it, into regular Wilds.
Volcano Scatter
Hitting at least 3 Volcano symbols will trigger the Light the Forge, and the number of symbols awarded will depend on the number of triggering symbols. As such you can win 10, 12, 15 or 20 spins.
Light the Forge
Once the round is triggered and the spins have been awarded the spins will start. Every Hammer Wild landing on the grid during the round will increase the win multiplier by +1 and it will retain the same capability of converting itself and all symbols below it, into the Wild symbols. Additional Volcano Scatters will add extra spins, and so, you can win 1, 2, 4 or 6 spins. If the last spin in the round is not a win, you will keep getting an extra spin until you land a win.
Buy Feature
For 80x the bet you can buy the entry into the bonus round instead of waiting for it to get triggered. The feature is triggered with 3-6 Scatters with the same frequency as when triggering it by chance. Just keep in mind that the Buy Feature might not be available in all the markets.
Summary
Hammer of Vulcan is simply spectacular. The theme, the artwork, the design, the mechanic, there’s nothing missing here. The game is highly volatile but unfortunately the RTP is somewhat less than an industry average, and it is set to 95.81%, and it has a monstrous win potential that caps at x20000 your stake.
Whenever I see the name Vulcan, I think of Mr Spock of Star Trek fame, but he is not in this game by Quickspin. There’s another Vulcan guy, carrying a Thor-like hammer, and whenever he appears on the reels, he gets whacked real good, transforming him, along with any other symbols below him, into Wild symbols. Oh gees, what a way to go through every spin, just to create Wilds on the reels, and that’s one Vulcan nobody would ever want to be!
The guys who designed this game must be ruthless and heartless guys indeed, but that’s a different story altogether. Where the game is concerned, it plays with 6 reels 4 rows and 4096 ways to win, but with a starting bet of only $0.10 per spin, so anyone can get going and start hammering that poor Vulcan guy. However, if you pity him, then don’t play this game, hahaha.
Okay, so the next thing to consider is, can the game pay good? Well, looking at the win values of all the symbols, sorry to say but they are all very low, almost extremely low! Getting 6 Wilds, for example, would only pay 12x the total bet, and the others would pay from 12x down to 2x, yet the indicated maximum possible win is 20,000x! Oh blimey, don’t ask me how that can ever be achieved with such low win values! Looks more like one more big hype to me!
The Volcano Scatter is a non-paying symbol, so no extra wins from getting them. Landing 3/4/5/6 Scatters would trigger 10/12/15/20 free spins, without any fixed multiplier, unless that poor Vulcan guy starts appearing on the reel, gets whacked real hard, and then only would you get Wilds on the reels. During the free spins play, any new appearing Wild would increase the multiplier by 1x, whilst a Scatter would add +1 more free spin. If the final free spin is not a winner, a Strike Again free spin is activated, continuing on until a win is achieved. For impatient players, there is a Buy feature to activate the free spins feature game, costing 80x the bet amount, which is slightly cheaper than the usual 100x.
Personally, I never like any Buy feature, as it is merely the fastest way to lose money! Most of the time, the free spins would pay much less than the 80x cost, so it’s hardly ever worth it. Might as well try getting those scatters in the base game play, but of course, try telling that to impatient players...they simply won’t be convinced! Hahaha. Anyway, to cut this story short, my first ever play on this game didn’t go well at first, but good luck finally came, I got a nice 289x win from 14 free spins, even though the multiplier never got above 4x, and with that, I said “hasta la vista baby!”. Play this game again? No way baby! Hahaha.
