- Coin denominations can be set by clicking the Total Bet section and you can use the up and down arrows to increase and decrease your total bet. The amount you choose will set your total bet per spin
- Hitting spin will set the reels in motion
- You can also use the autoplay feature and set up to 1000 autospins with advanced settings
- Slot Features
Quickspin have included some great features into the game to keep you entertained on every spin. These include a Multiplier Meter and a Bonus Meter, Stacked Wilds, Free Spins that come in 3 stages and a Free Spins Smashing Blocks Bonus.
Multiplier Meter
Each Wild Symbol in the game will activate one multiplier with the maximum highest multiplier reaching a cool 15x. This will trigger every time you get a winning combination. All wins are then multiplied by the highest activated multiplier and these can increase when your in the free spins bonus. The exact value of the multiplier will depend on how many Wilds land on your reel and with the Wilds being stacked you’re guaranteed bigger multipliers.
Bonus Meter
This is available on during free spins (explained below) and will be available during the first two stages as follows:
- During stage 1 it contains Symbol Upgrade blocks
- During stage 2 it contains Whirling Wild blocks
Free Spins Bonus
These are the main attraction of the game and they are separated into three different stages. Land 3 Bonus Symbols to trigger the Free Spins, and each of the free spins have their own unique feature:
- Stage 1 - When a Symbol Upgrade block gets smashed its corresponding low win symbol will be removed from the reels. This is then replaced with stacks of the corresponding high win symbol. If the top block gets smashed you’ll progress to the next stage
- Stage 2 - When a Whirling Wild block is smashed, the Whirling Wilds inside the block will be collected above the reels. A maximum of 6 Whirling Wilds can be collected. Once again if the top block gets smashed you’ll progress to the next stage
- Stage 3 - All collected Whirling Wilds will drop into random positions and turn into Wild Symbols during this stage. This stage will automatically end after 3 spins, when all Whirling Wilds have dropped on to the reels. This also ends the Free Spins Bonus
Free Spins Bonus - Smashing Blocks
The smashing of blocks we just mentioned happens during free spins and works as follows:
- During each spin, a bonus block is indicated, in succession from bottom to top
- On any win, or if the top bonus block is reached, the King will smash the indicated bonus block, triggering its feature
- Randomly, the Mountain King will also smash the bottom multiplier block, incrementing all multipliers
- If the top bonus block is smashed, the game progresses to the next stage as explained above
Summary
Overall, the game has real potential. In fact you can win up to 7,326x yout total stake on each spin or free spin if you trigger the maximum 15x multiplier. With the bonus features aside your most valuable symbol is one of the lucrative trolls which can pay 40x your total stake for 5-of-a-kind. The stacked wilds can also give you the chance to hit some pretty decent wins here.
The game, as we mentioned is high variance so you may need to have a little patience with it. But don’t forget you can test it for free here at AskGamblers to see what you think.
Do those icons look familiar to you? They certainly do to me – they look like characters from the movie Avatar. Maybe this game is based on that movie, or maybe not at all, I wouldn’t know, but what matters most is how good can this Hall Of The Mountain King game be, right? Oh, okay, so the big-win hunters are actually asking how big a win can the game pay? To find out, read on, hehehe.
First off, just let me say that I don’t really like the icons used in the game! I find those figures rather unpleasant to look at, because they all look like they are aliens from another planet, or perhaps it is just me and my visions, but never mind. Nevertheless, I also find the overall presentation to be not lively enough, perhaps due to the colours used, making it looking rather dull and uninviting.
Secondly, I find the win values of all the symbols not that good either - getting 5 Wilds on a payline, for example, would only pay 40x the total bet amount. The Bonus Scatter symbols don’t pay for themselves, except to award the 3-stage Free Spins feature game, and more free spins cannot be retriggered either. As for win multipliers, they are up to 5x in the base game, and up to 15x during the free spins. The maximum possible win is indicated as over 7000x…oh really? I cannot figure out how the heck to get that win! Getting 5 Wilds at 15x multiplier would only pay 600x the bet amount, meaning, you’d need to get that win 12 times to break that 7000x win! Does that sound impossible, or is that simply impossible?!
As for the 3-stage Free Spins feature game, well, honestly speaking, I’m not impressed – not at all! The free spins in the first two stages would go on as long as the topmost block gets smashed, and the final third stage only offers 3 more free spins, then everything would end. From the few free spins games that I have played, I couldn’t even get anything more than a low 92x win. That’s rather disappointing, to say the very least. The paytable doesn’t indicate that this game is a high volatility game, but it sure eats and pays like one!
Sorry to say, but this Hall Of The Mountain King game simply doesn’t have anything really interesting to offer, and the payouts are mostly measly too. There are better Quickspin games to play, but mostly still do not suit my taste anyhow.
