Gnome Sweet Home is 5 reels and 50 pay-lines video slot powered by Rival Gaming software provider. This slot is inspired by garden gnomes and theirlifestyle as the name itself implies. Transparent reels are set in a peaceful garden. It seems as if you are looking in from the outside through an iron rail. All symbols are theme-related and the slot has a cool intro. Give this slot a spin here for free or visit Rival Casinos to play for real money.
Before you start exploring the life of these little chaps you need to set your bets. By clicking on "+/-" you can set the coins size which ranges from 0.01 to 0.25. The number of lines can be set by clicking on "Select Lines" or "+/-" buttons set on both side of the reels. "Select Coins" will adjust the number of coins per line whereas "Bet Max" sets the maximum bet and starts turning the reels automatically. "Auto" will turn the reels automatically without interruption but it is available only when playing for real money, and "Spin" will set the reels in motion.
This cute video slot contains an Expanding Wild symbol, a Scatter, a Bonus game symbol, a Jackpot gnome symbol and two bonus features which include Free Spins feature and a Bonus feature.
The jackpot symbol is represented as the grandpa gnome. This symbol can form its own winning combinations if you land 3 or more of them on an enabled active pay-line. For 3 of these symbols you will get 50 credits, for 4 you will get 500 credits, for 5 you will be awarded with 5000 credits.
The Wild symbol in the game is the female gnome. The Wild symbol can substitute for any other symbol on the reels, and it appears only on reels 1, 3 and 5. Once you hit it on one of these three reels it will expand to form winning combos.
The Scatter symbol in the game is a gnome with an ax. If you land 3 or more of them anywhere on the reels you will activate Free Spins feature. All potential wins during this feature will be subjected to x3 multiplier. Three scatters will get you 10 spins, four scatters will get you 20 spins, and five will award you with 50 free spins. Also, the free spins feature can be re-triggered.
The Bonus mini game is activated when you land 3 or more gnomes with the hammer. Once you hit this you will be taken to another screen where a gnome stands in a vegetable patch. You need to pick 3 plants for him to dig up and you will be awarded with a suitable prize.

Ah, gnome sweet gnome, err, I mean home sweet home, but for Rival, it is gnome sweet home. Home for the gnomes, but where it is no one knows. It may be in the forest behind your home. It may be in a forest far away from home, but wherever it is, you don't have to search far to find them. No need to go to the Amazon. Just load some bucks in and voila, the gnomes appear right in front of you. These gnomes look like elves, don't they? Or maybe they are the same. I'm not very familiar with elves or gnomes, and I seldom go into any forest away from home either, but no matter.
This game plays with 50 paylines, the current trend for newer Rival games, and with a starting minimum bet of 0.50, which isn't to my liking really. I prefer to start small, like 0.15, 0.20 or 0.25 bet per spin. That would give me a longer play time. In this Gnome Sweet Home game, the Lady Gnome is the Wild symbol, appearing only on reels 1, 3 and 5, it doesn't pay anything for itself, it doesn't double any wins but expands into a Wild Reel with any wins, and also substitutes for other symbols except the Scatter and the Bonus symbols. Yep, still a dumb symbol. The Gnome with the axe is the Scatter symbol, another dumb symbol with no pay, but getting 3, 4 or 5 of them trigger 10, 20 or 50 free spins with all wins tripled. More free spins can be retriggered. Hmm, not too bad. The Old Gnome is the Bonus symbol, the third dumb symbol in this game, and getting 3 or more of the Bonus symbols trigger the Bonus Round. Pick 3 or more plants to win instant cash prizes. The other symbols in the game pay from 5000x to 65x the line bet for getting 5 of each kind, making the paytable an average one.
I guess my biggest disappointment with this game must be the Free Spins games. I've had several of them in my most recent play, but each one paid a very low win of between 3x to 8x my bet amount, which is way from being satisfactory. The Bonus games did slightly better with 9x up to 14x my bet amount wins, but even these are far from being satisfactory. Oddly enough, the best win that I got so far, 55x my bet amount, came from the base game itself and not from the Free Spins games, but it is in the Free Spins game that the big wins would eventually come. It's just that I couldn't get them yet. Nonetheless, I still find Gnome Sweet Home not that good to play.
