I was browsing through their games, saw this never-played-before game, and decided to give a try.
The graphics in Yggdrasil games are usually very good, colourful and of high quality. Florageddon is no exception. Looking through its paytable, I could see that the win values of the regular symbols are very low indeed, the top one paying only 5x the bet amount, and worse still, both the Wild and Scatter/Bonus symbols don’t pay anything. That sucks! What is good, on the other hand, are the big win multipliers, going up to more than 79x, and maybe even up to 100x (I didn’t reach that high to know for sure). Also, all wins can pay both ways, from left-to-right and right-to-left, with win multipliers on each side, which is indeed very unique to this game. You won’t find anything similar in any other game, if I’m not wrong. So, although the paytable may seem to be disappointing, the win multipliers and both-ways pay do make up for it.
Everything sounds good and interesting, right? Yeah, except when you actually start to play the game! Getting 3, 4, or 5 Bonus symbols would award 7, 9 or 11 free spins, which aren’t a lot really, but getting those Bonus symbols can be so difficult. In fact, I couldn’t even get any 3 of them, so I never had the chance to experience how its free spins would play and pay. I only managed to get a measly 62x win in the base game, although 2 Bonus symbols teasers were not hard to come by.
What I like most about this Florageddon game are the win multipliers on each side of the reels. Each win would increase the multiplier by one step (not necessarily by +1x), and multiple consecutive wins could quickly increase the multipliers to over 56x! My best was only 47x though, but no win from it! Sigh.
Nothing much to dislike about this game though. Visually, it looks very nice and colourful, but the background music could be a bit louder (too soft as compared to the effects sound level), and of course, the Bonus symbols could come more often, hahaha.
