Fire & Steel is a Betsoft game released in 2017 and it has 5 reels and 20 paylines with 3-4-5-4-3 rows format which is really interesting to play as I played the other game by Betsoft having similar rows format and my expectations were really high. Even if the game is released in 2017 and there are many fantasy slots like this one that reminds players of GOT, it has outstanding graphics being nicely combined with the soft relaxing type of music in the game.

The game has a normal wild symbol but that's not the most exciting part as the game offers warrior wilds, the(Swordsman) that releases a beam over or below him and turns symbols into wild, meanwhile the(Shieldmaiden) releases a horizontal beam either to her left or her right turning symbols into the wild, she has really been good towards me and it's really easy to get 5 of a kind if she lands on first or last reel.

As the warriors are basically main symbols of the game Betsoft decided to use them for the War of the Wilds Free Spins feature that awards 10 free spins when both warriors land on the reels and their transformation beams feature intersect, and there is gonna be sticky Wild locked on its position throughout the feature. The free spins can be re-triggerable, for additional 10 spins which in my opinion is highly needed as the payouts were really low and I had a better time getting bigger wins in just a base game which usually can end up with nice 40-50x wins because of the warrior wild or having some of the stronger symbols such as a Golden crown or purple/yellow crests, while the five-colored gems are the low paying symbols and you will usually see them frequently on the reel.

Prepare a big budget for this game as it can eat your money so fast that you won't even have time to process what is happening, that's what exactly happened to me as the wins in the base game where the payouts are most of the times 0,5x can be depressing and the free spins feature has a lot of dead spins without any multiplier being involved. Keeping that in my most of my wins ended up being lost because of me using double up option and trying to turn the table and start winning some money, but you will need 4 or 5 good guesses to even manage to do it.

BstSoft’s games are well known for their excellent 3D graphics since several years ago, so it isn’t surprising that this Fire & Steel game is well presented with very nice graphics. However, not everyone likes BetSoft games, and I personally too, only like a very few of them, but unfortunately, this fiery steely game isn’t one of them.

Right from the very start, a 3-4-5-4-3 rows format of any game has never been to my liking, still preferring the standard 3-rows, so it wasn’t a good starting point for me with this game. Nonetheless, the 20-paylines do pay both ways, so that’s a good point instead. Both the Swordsman and the ShieldMaiden are the Wild symbols, with a 125x total bet win value for getting any 5 of them, but they do not double wins nor expand on the reels. The Swordsman spread new Wilds vertically on the reel, whilst the ShielsMaiden spreads new Wilds horizontally on the same row. When both the new Wilds collide, 10 free spins are awarded, the collided Wild become sticky for the entire free spins play, with new colliding Wilds become sticky as well, and retriggering 10 more free spins. Other than that, there’s nothing more to expect out of this game, which I find rather disappointing – there should have been at least 1 or 2 more extra features to make Fire & Steel more appealing and interesting

My first few plays on this game were from free spins offered to me, all of which did not pay anything interesting at all. I did get the 10 free spins in one of those free play sessions, but that too paid horribly low – I couldn’t even get a 20x win from them! Subsequently, I gave the game a few more tries with deposited and bonus money, but that too simply couldn’t give me anything interesting at all. Yes, there were a few instances of the Wilds colliding, awarding the free spins, and there were also instances of some Wild symbols on the reels, but nothing decent came out of them. After several plays on this game, the best win I could get was a miserable measly 36x win! If that is not totally disappointing, I don’t know what else it can be!

Fire & Steel is a five reel slot with variable rows and twenty fixed pay lines. The game pays both ways, but do not think you will win all the time as often empty spins can occur when this slot is not in the mood. The two warriors guard the reels and act as wild whenever they land on the reels.

The higher value symbols are a golden crown, purple and yellow crests, an ornate book, a bejewelled cup, a helmet and a dagger. Five coloured gems which is green, blue, red, orange and yellow. The low value symbols pays very low, but they create the wins often.

The Swordsman and the Shieldmaiden are special wild symbols. They are known as the warrior wilds. Whenever the swordsman lands on the reels then it either transforms symbol over or below him in the reel into wilds. Whenever the Shieldmaiden lands on the reels she either transform all symbols to the left or to the right into wilds. With the shieldmaiden its easy to get 5 of a kind and mostly 5 of a kind wild on the reels. I think 5 of kind wild pays x50 your total bet.

Free spins feature is triggered when both warrior wilds land on the reels and their transformation beams feature intersect. You are awarded with 10 free spins and on the reels where the beams interact a sticky wild is placed on the reels.

Now remember this slot is highly volatile and unlike 90% of Betsoft slots who have a great base game pay out frequency this slot is not the same. The base game hardly pays and when you win its your total stake divided by 5 or so, which are very low pay-outs.

The free spins feature also hardly pays unless you have that starting sticky wild in the middle of the reels somewhere. Warriors tend to land on the reels much more often for bigger wins. I think I won just a little over x100 as my biggest on this slot, but then I hardly play the slot on a daily basis.

This is one of the best newer slots out -period. Payouts can be quite large if you get lucky! You get free spins by aligning the two bonus symbols to intersect (the man and the woman bonus reels). This is where you can get some of the most payouts. DEFINITELY play on higher bets if you actually want to win something. Not for low-ballers.

Only thing I dont like about this slot is that if you don't get on a streak, you can easily blow through all your funds without getting anything. Its one of those slots that either you will do really well on, or really bad. So be sure to take this into account and have a decent bank roll to play.
