The slot comes with a free spins feature, like all good slots should have a free spins feature, and here it is about triggering it with 3 or more scatters, and what is great about it is that the more scatters you trigger, the more free spins you get, so 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 scatters get you 10, 12, 14, 16, 18. That is how it should be. What I like about this cluster slot is that you only need 5 or more same symbols to pay, but they have to be touching each other. I was having a go on this slot, but while I didn’t get a feature on it during the session, I did get some decent base wins.

The graphics look great here, with a futuristic design, lots of blue colors dominating the slot and the reels too.

The music with the slot is mesmerizing, and there is singing mixed into it as well, which I like when a slot has that, as it is so different from your other slots out there that just use music. When it comes to sound effects here, they are suitable for the slot; I would have to say with every win sound.

The bonus buys are indeed an option here too, with 100x for the bonus buy, and there is also an ante bet option for those not wanting to buy the whole bonus but wanting to have a go on the base game with a higher chance of a feature, which will cost 25% extra to go that route.

I had a go on the 94.08% R.T.P. version, and there is indeed a 96.06% R.T.P. version out there too, but the casino where I played had the 94% range R.T.P. version, so that is what I had to go with this time.

There is something about the sound effects in this slot that causes my ears to vibrate, and I can’t stand that inner-ear buzz, so I have to turn it off as I play the slot; no issue having the music on, though. But it's rare to find slots with this kind of weird sound but when I find it then I have to turn the sound off, including if it’s a YouTube channel.

This review is meant as a warning, based on my own extensive experience with this slot. I've used around 3,500 DKK (approx. 475 EUR) trying to unlock the potential, but without much luck, apart from one 410x win. Well, here goes:

As many fellow slot players before me have pointed out, Fire Portals can be a very harsh mistress; it really likes to build up hope just to deadspin you out. The game concept is somewhat related to eg. Jammin' Jars from Push Gaming, but there are important differences.

The portals act as multilplier wilds here, and just like in Jammin' Jars you up the multiplier with each hit. A winning combination is formed each time you connect 5 or more adjacent symbols, with or without a wild portal.

A hit without an existing portal creates a new portal, while a hit with one or more existing portals ups the multiplier, which is where the potential for big wins lies. But typically Fire Portals will stall with the good connections until the last spin - or just deadspin with big multiplier portals in plain sight.

The game is simply too scripted, which imho is a common problem with these cluster/grid slots. Here it is just too obvious, as the slot loves to deadspin, when you build up some promising multiplying wild portals.
