This is one more game that I have never played before, basically because the game isn't easily found, certainly not at any Microgaming casinos, and I found it at one multi-platformed casino instead. Hmm, one look at the opening screen and I already knew it wasn't a Microgaming game, but I'm not really bothered about that anyway. There have been games from other providers in MG's games directory before, so I wasn't really surprised. I was only hoping that this Enchanted Mermaid game would not play as badly as the few Rabcat games have for me. Rabcat is at the bottom of my favourite games provider list, if you can it a favourite list at all. Those few games had played atrociously for me, so I was thankful to find out that this game wasn't from Rabcat.
Honestly speaking, the graphics didn't come across as striking at all to me. The icons of the sea creatures, especially that of the turtle, could have been done better - none of them look attractive enough, or happy enough to be on show, much less the sad-looking turtle. Oh that poor creature! And the Mermaid? Hmm, does she look happy to you? Not to me, she doesn't. A sad looking game has never been a hit with me, so straight away, even without playing the game, Enchanted Mermaid has dropped quite considerably down the scale. Too bad.
The Mermaid is the Wild symbol in the game, a dumb symbol that doesn't pay anything for itself, appears only on reels 2 and 4, expands into a full Wild Reel with wins but doesn't double the wins, and substitutes for other symbols except for the Scatter symbol. Not good enough for me. The Pearl is the Scatter symbol, paying a nice 200x total bet for getting 5 of them, and getting 3 or more of them triggers the Free Spins game. Choose either 10 free spins with up to 10x multiplier, 15 free spins with up to 7x multiplier, or 20 free spins with up to 4x multiplier. A Special Mermaid Substitute symbol may also appear during the free spins as the Extra Wild symbol. The Clownfish pays 5000x, the Turtle pays 1000x, the Seashell and the Seahorse each pays 500x, and the others pay from 300x to 100x, all per line bet for getting 5 of each kind. An average paytable at best.
Well, this Enchanted Mermaid game certainly has the potentials for good wins, especially from the free spins with 10x multiplier, but sadly enough, my one and only play on this game failed to give me any good opportunity, not even once! I spinned over 300 spins without getting any Free Spins game, the spins came mostly blanks, or with very small insignificant payouts, so much so, I became quickly irritated and disappointed that I quit playing the game without giving it any further chance to prove its mettle. If I did, the game may or may not have paid me back some wins, or could have gobbled me up even more. I wasn't taking any risks, as I've been bitten once too many times already from so-called Microgaming games.
