Dino Drop Review—Editor’s Impressions
We’re taking a trip back in time for this Dino Drop slot review. This Pragmatic Play release combines a Jurassic theme with a retro slot layout. The smiling dinos can deliver a ferocious respin feature, and there are also a few Dino Drop payouts to watch out for.
Dino Drop Slot Overview
It’s not every day that we see intricately designed dinosaur-themed online slots with vintage layouts. The Dino Drop slot machine takes place across an old-school 3x3 grid, with symbols depicting various smiling dinos (including a Tyrannosaurus and a Triceratops) and playing card icons. As always, three matches trigger a payout, and as there are only three slot reels, it’s easy to spot a win across the five paylines.
Simple is the theme of the day here, but the dynamic visuals, including a grinning green dino at the top of the reels, add a nice touch. It makes for a good change from the usual fruit slots covered in many of our slot reviews, and it should appeal to those seeking quirky themes and 3D graphics, as well as fans of retro styles.
Dino Drop RTP, Payout, and Volatility
The Dino Drop RTP is a respectable 96.47%, which puts it just above average. You can get a feel for the payout rate by trying the Dino Drop slot demo.
The demo of Dino Drop will also give you an idea of the game’s variance. At 5/5, it’s as high as it can go, so expect infrequent but larger returns.
There are a limited number of symbols, paylines, and features in this game, so unsurprisingly, the max win is on the low side at just 1,240x.
Dino Drop Mobile
Some online mobile slots look the same on all platforms, but Dino Drop was clearly developed as a mobile-first game. It is a neat, tidy, stylish, and dynamic slot on mobile, but if you play Dino Drop on desktop, you’ll see a lot of empty space and a condensed, portrait-oriented grid in the centre. It looks far better on phones and tablets than it does on desktop.
Dino Drop Graphics and Gaming Experience
Despite the clear mobile-first approach, Dino Drop still provides a solid experience across all platforms. There’s a jungle-themed soundtrack, 3D graphics, and various animations that will hold your interest. The colourful dinosaurs are fun and unique. It’s like a cross between The Land Before Time and the old Dinosaurs sitcom—retro references for a retro slot!
Dino Drop Bonus Features
Dino Drop doesn’t bombard you with features. There is a Wild, but it only comes into play during the main feature.
Dino Drop Free Spins
Technically, there is no Dino Drop Free Spins round, but the respin feature offers a similar experience.
Triggered by stacked Tyrannosaurus symbols, it turns all of those Tyrannosaurus symbols into Wilds. These then substitute for all other symbols and can stack across entire reels. The Wild pays significantly more than other main game symbols, making this feature the star of the show.

Dino Drop Slot Summary
The Dino Drop slot machine is a fun, quirky slot that blends a unique theme and some familiar retro stylings. The paylines and max payout are on the small side, and we would have liked to see a few more features, but if you’re looking for no-nonsense new slots loaded with nostalgia, it’s worth a spin.
You don’t need to learn any complex mechanics to enjoy this one, but it’s still a good idea to start with the slot demo of Dino Drop. It’s free, and you can test your luck on those paylines and respins without risking a penny.
A slot from Pragmatic Play and it has a dinosaur theme with a simple 3 reel, 3 row, design with a very friendly 0.05 per spin.
So while the slot doesn’t have a free spins bonus feature it has a feature that is a respin until you win feature. While it doesn’t make up for the fact of no free spins feature it is better than nothing I suppose. During my session on the slot the best the slot paid was 40x which was not too bad and it came from those respins. To trigger those respins you gotta get those dinosaur wild reels to show up and then you are getting the fun of respins.
The graphics feature the dinosaur and his egg up the top and he reacts to any of the action on the reels which is good to see, if you get a winning spin that is when animations go on.
The music is alright actually unusual with some kind of guitar and then some weird drums that bang bang bang. The reel sound effects are a bit harsh to listen to when you get lots of dead spins over and over.
I played the 96.47% RTP version which also gave me a winning session on this slot and I am going to attribute that cause of the max RTP but I know RTP is about billions of spins but I will say it anyway.
The max win cap is so low it is outrageous at just 1240x for a Pragmatic slot released in 2025, what? I can’t believe it. I don’t know what they were thinking but here we are 1240x is all you can win.
The slot design is made for mobile phone players so the screen is squeezed to be played just in the middle when playing on a desktop, I don’t like that at all since I am mostly a desktop player.
The sound has only one switch so once again another slot that you can enjoy the music but if you don’t want the sound effects to interrupt it then you can’t do anything about or you will turn the music off to if you try to turn off the sound effects.
The slot lacks a traditional free spins bonus feature and I like it when slots have those features so I can chase the bonus feature.
