“Dice and Fire” is a video slot produced by the company “Pragmatic Play” whose theme combines some typical elements of Chinese iconography, symbols of poker cards and also each side of a die of 6 faces; and I would add that it is a game with a not very attractive design actually.
What it has this slot is a couple of interesting special features that include a bonus round that activates a wheel of fortune with 3 levels of scalable prizes, and also a free spin round with 3x, 5x and 10x multipliers depending on if you trigger the feature with 3, 4 or 5x scatters respectively, which is a very interesting aspect of this slot since more scatters do not give a greater number of spins but a larger multiplier.
In the bonus round, a greater number of Dragon symbols it also means an opportunity to win bigger prizes.
However, despite their good winning potential, it is not easy at all to activate either of these two features, or at least that has been my impression today when I only gained access once to each of them in a session with a duration of approximately 50 minutes, and my prizes were 23x my total bet in the bonus round and 123x in the free spins where practically all the profit came from a single spin where they appeared 4 Buddha wilds strategically placed to create a big win of 121x my total bet.
You could say that this Buddha wild is a key symbol in this slot as it is a fairly dynamic symbol and sometimes appears massively on the reels, and in fact, once I got a payout equivalent to 53x my total bet when 4 of these wilds appeared perfectly aligned on the same active pay line, but this time during the base game.
Now, the Achilles' heel of this game seems to be on its pay table, especially in per-line prices set for the 6 dice symbols, which as expected, appear more often than symbols of Poker cards with which it is very difficult to form a long line.
After my only round of 12 free spins with 3x multiplier, my balance started to decrease slowly but steadily until I finally gave back all my winnings to the machine and a little more.
I think “Dice and Fire” turned out to be an entertaining and interesting game, but it's a pity that access to its special features is so limited; even so, I think I'd like to give it one last chance.
