Remember the BNS scatter slot, what is it called now again? Uhm, Nero's Fortune, which was one of Quickspin's most highly volatile slots with unlimited winning potential. Crown of Valor is an exact remake or clone of this slot, so if you are familiar with Nero's Fortune, you can surely know what to expect.

The slot has a bonus buy feature though, as we know how long it can take to trigger the free spins feature. On Nero's fortune it took well over 500 spins, every time, only triggered it 3 times in total, but the biggest win was just over 100x. This one came in at around 250 spins but was struggling to get an x50 winner. Even a few bonus buys could not win me some of my money back.

You can easily build that multiplier, however, the game just misses, and does not hit at all. Wilds are all over the reels, but you always 1 symbol short. One of the best mechanics to frustrate the average players, just like Napoleon from Blueprint like to troll. You know when that wilds land on reels 1 and 2, and a scatter drop on reel 3 to mess up the win, yet you think "Oh that was close" let's take another spin.

A personally feel both these slots are money wasters, unless volatile extreme, as in Lil Devil, where 99 out of 100 heart-stopper bonuses pay something with enhanced features, in this case over 20x multiplier, but symbols simply does not connect.

You need a good starting balance, but my advice would be, just buy the bonus if you can, this will save you so much frustration and time from your daily life, as getting that 3rd scatter is a big problem.

I like the theme, graphics, and soundtrack though, even though it's not my cup of tea. I'll give a bash, maybe once a year or unless I can see more 1000x winners constantly, otherwise I will park this one in my freezer for now!

Crown Of Valor is a fairly new game from Quickspin, playing with 5 reel and 5 rows, and with a starting bet of 20 cents per spin. There are no specific play lines, so all wins are paid in clusters of 5 or more same symbols instead. There has been quite a number of such games, even as far back as NetEnt’s Aloha Clusters Pay game of several years ago, but such games have never caught my interest and they never would either. They’re simply not my kind of games.

Even the paytable and the win values of all the symbols are rather uninteresting. Both the Wild and the Bonus symbols are non-paying, the Wild symbol is not even a Multiplying Wild, and each cascading win would create a new Wild symbol. Any win involving a Wild symbol would increase the win multiplier by +1x, but any no-Wild win wouldn’t, so how more boring can the game be? What you would be getting most of the time would be lots of wins without any multiplier, or with just a 2x multiplier. Sheesh!

3, 4 or 5 Bonus symbols would trigger 10, 14 or 18 free spins, and each new appearing Bonus symbol would add +1 more free spin. Again, this isn’t exciting at all, because the additional free spins would tend to come in drips, so to speak. How high can the win multiplier go during the free spins play? Absolutely unpredictable, as it totally depends on getting winning combinations involving a Wild symbol, or less, no multiplier! Argh!

The only quite interesting feature in this dull game is when the Wild Fire special feature gets triggered, that happens when the collecting meter gets filled up after 18 cascading wins. Up to 4 Wild symbols would appear on the reels to create additional new wins, but wait a minute, only 4 Wilds? Yep, so you can just imagine the sort of wins that 4 Wilds could create on a 25 grids game! Most of the time, they would be nothing more than hopeless wins!

DISLIKED

Honestly speaking, this Crown Of Valor game isn’t designed to give big wins. Getting 12 or more of the top symbols would only pay 250x the stake amount. Add a small multiplier to it and voila, that’s as big as it could go! Nope, certainly not a good game to play, and one try would be sufficient enough to keep any player away.
