Blue Beard

Belatra is a game provider not so familiar with many players, as it has appeared only fairly recently in the igaming industry. There aren't many games from them as yet, and this Blue Beard game is one of the more popular ones. At first glance, the game looks beautiful, has great graphics, and I was instantly attracted by it. I like its overall presentation, with its vibrant colours, but when I looked into its paytable, I was really disappointed at what I saw!

Needless to say, almost all recent new games have ridiculously low win values for their game symbols, with a few games even indicating mind-blowing deceptive maximum win possibilities, but thankfully, Blue Beard doesn't hype on this. Nevertheless, a discerning player like me would only rely on what the paytable shows and not on what it says it can do!

The Blue Beard character is the Wild symbol, but it doesn't display the 'wild' word, strangely enough. What disappoints me the most is the win value of it - getting 5 Blue Beard Wilds pay a miserable 6.25x the total bet! That is absolutely extremely low! Getting 20 Wild symbols on the 5 reels and 4 rows, for instance, would pay an unbelievably low 250x the total bet, and that represents the maximum possible win in the game! If that is the highest possible win, then just imagine what all the other wins would be like - even a simple 100x win would be very hard to get!

Anyway, most players may not realise this shortcoming, simply because the game plays quite well in itself! Why? Because the symbols are all stacked, including the Wilds, so getting stacked symbols comes quite regularly, although these wins don’t actually pay a lot! I’ve had many times of stacked symbols on 4 reels, but they all pay around 30x my bet amount, or less. The stacked Wilds seem to come more often on the last 3 reels, which hardly create wins anyhow, so that is also disappointing.

Well, to be fair to Belatra, Blue Beard is an interesting game to play, but with much better win values, it may even become a hit with many more players. Big win hunters would quickly become disappointed, as the small wins wouldn’t satisfy their needs and demands, but small bets players may enjoy the game more.
