When Pragmatic Play first released the game Big Bass Bonanza, I gave it several plays, just to test out the game, but I simply couldn’t get any decent win. From that day onwards, I’ve never liked the game. Then came Bigger Bass Bonanza, with a premise of a better game play and better wins, but I had managed to avoid trying out this new game for quite a long while. Not too long ago, I finally gave this game a try, but it ate all of my $50 deposit (no bonus taken) without giving me any single free spins feature game! That was my worst play on the game and I have hated this game since then, but now giving it one last play, just for the purpose of writing a game review.

The game has 5 reels and 4 rows, but plays with only 12 lines, so the starting bet is only 12 cents per spin. Good for small budget players and very low rollers, but the 12 lines actually meant it’s a lot harder to get any win! The base game plays without any Wild symbol, and the Scatter symbols are non-paying as well, so there’s absolutely no extra winning chances from these two symbols. The regular symbols, however, do have acceptable win values, ranging from 200x (Boat symbol) down to 10x the bet, but getting any decent wins in the base game is a totally different horrible story altogether!

Getting 3, 4 or 5 Scatter symbols anywhere on the reels would award 10, 15 or 20 free spins, not retriggerable, so no extra free spins, except by progressing up the Fisherman Scale to get extra 10 or 20 free spins more. The first 10 extra free spins has a x2 multiplier, but the next 10 free spins has a x10 multiplier, to further boost up the wins. The initial 10 free spins doesn’t have any multiplier, so that actually sucks, to me at least! In order to get the maximum possible win of 4000x, getting that 10x multiplier is a must, without which, wins cannot be big enough, but I guess we all can figure that out by ourselves.

Nevertheless, my play session on this Bigger Bass Bonanza couldn’t give me any big win, except for one miserable 100x win. So, after getting that winning screenshot for my game review, I quickly made a run out of there, saying “bye-bye forever” to the game. I’m not ever going to play any Big or Bigger Bass game anymore, that’s for sure!

Bigger bass bonanza is my most favourite slot from Pragmatic play and I play this slot every time I make a deposit. Bigger bass bonanza is a fish themed slot with 5x4 grid and 12 pay lines. The entire slot grid is placed in an ocean next to the shore and it adds to the theme of the slot.
The slot has symbols which are related to the fishing theme and the usual card symbols. The card symbols are 10, J, Q, K and A, all of which pay 10x the bet size. The tackle box and float symbol pay 50x. The fishing rod pays 100x and the boat symbol pays 200x your bet size. You also get fish money symbols that pay 1 x for 3 symbols, 5x for 4 symbols and the total value of all fish if they are 5 in a line. The fisher man is the wild symbol that substitutes all symbols but scatter.
The bonus in the slot is triggered if you get scatter symbols anywhere on the reels. 3 scatter symbols give 10 frees spins, 4 give 15 and 5 scatter symbols give 20 free spins. During the bonus feature, on every spin you have a chance to land fish symbols and if the wild symbols land at the same time as fish money symbols the fisherman collects all of their values. Fish money symbols land holding a random value and these values are 1x to 4000x your bet size. On one spin more than wild symbol can land and all the wins are collected the number of times the wild has appeared during those spins. The slot has four levels, the first one where your wins are 1x, the second level where your wins are multiplied by 2, the third where your wins are multiplied by 3 and finally 4th where your wins are multiplied by10. To progress to the next level, wild symbols are collected on a meter displayed above the reels. To progress to every level, you need to collect 4 wilds and this act retriggers the feature by awarding 10 additional free spins and a multiplier for the wild money symbol collector. After three retriggers, the feature cannot be retriggered again.
I was never really a huge fan of slots where you had to collect wins in bonus feature like la dolce vita, fishin’ frenzy, fishin’ frenzy megaways, Bigg bass bonanza, floating dragon or any other similar slot. But bigger bass bonanza is far better than these slots not just because it has an extra reel but also the bonus triggers quite frequently. I can play this slot doing 1000s of spin without complaining as most of the bonuses pay above 50x and also during base game you get hits between 50x to 100x.

If there's one thing that seems like a pattern- game providers this year are really going for the sequel games. And Pragmatic Play has done a few sequels, their latest one being the Bigger Bass Bonanza. If I'm being honest, I was surprised to see that they've decided to release a sequel slot for this game, as the game is pretty simple. However, since I did enjoy the first game, I decided to give Bigger Bass Bonanza a try.

The game itself has 5 reels and instead of 3 rows, there are 4 rows which makes the minimum bet 13 cents- quite unusual but I'll take it, especially when low-rolling, From the first session with this game I noticed that it has very high volatility- I played it with minimum bets and spent over 30 eur without getting a single bonus feature or a win over 30x bet. Yet I was curious to explore the bonus feature so I spent a few more sessions with this game.

When it comes to the base game, it's quite simple. You can get fish symbols with cash amounts, and if the fisherman lands, you'll win the fish values. Also, just as in the previous game, to get the bonus round you only need 3 scatter symbols - yet it can take a while to get them. But once you do, you get 10 free spins, which can be retriggered once you land 4 fishermans, and then there's a wild multiplier, and you can get up to 10x multiplier which in this version I haven't yet achieved.

However, what really sets this game apart is the fact that if you land a fisherman without any fishes, a dynamite can add several fishes to the screen, improving your win. And there's a special fish you can land worth 4000x bet so that's definitely appealing. But when it comes to my experience with this game, I haven't had much luck so far. I've managed to get a few bonus features and once got to the second retrigger with 3x multiplier, but my win was only close to 100x bet. However, I do find this game appealing and having the special fish symbol adds an additional excitement element.

Overall, I think this is a good release from Pragmatic play, graphics are simple yet nice. I like the fact that you can potentially get a good base game hit with the fisherman and fish symbols and the fact they've added the special 4000x bet fish. But having said that, it's quite a volatile game so I'd recommend being careful with your balance.
