Big Bass Halloween Review—Editor’s Impressions
The Big Bass series is back with a Halloween edition that captures the eerie and gory essence of the spooky season. Zombie fish and Frankenstein royals combine with Wild symbols and a headline Free Spins feature for classic Pragmatic Play action. As we’ll discuss in this Big Bass Halloween slot review, it has all the features that made the Big Bass series such a huge hit, but with a unique skin that celebrates all things horror.
Big Bass Halloween Slot Overview
The classic 5x3 reel set and 10 paylines return, but the symbols in this new Big Bass slot have undergone a horror makeover. There’s a Shark-Bitten Life Preserver, a Bloodied Hook, and a Zombie Crow, as well as the usual Tackle Box, Fish Money symbols, and royals seen in other Big Bass online slots.
The typically cheery fisherman returns as the game’s Wild, but this time he’s brandishing a hook and sporting a menacing smile. You need three or more matching symbols for a win, but those creepy little Fish Money symbols don’t come into play until the main feature.
Big Bass Halloween RTP, Payout, and Volatility
We’ve encountered a few Big Bass titles in our slot reviews, and the metrics can differ greatly. The Big Bass Halloween RTP is solid, at 96.06%, and this remains the same even if you buy the feature (not available at UK online casinos).
At 2,100x, the max win is a long way short of its predecessors.
Volatility is high, but with a rating of 4/5, it’s more accessible than you might think. We had a relatively balanced session when playing the Big Bass Halloween slot demo.
Big Bass Halloween Mobile
As with most Pragmatic Play mobile slots, the layout changes slightly for mobile devices, with the reels pushed to the upper half of the screen and a portion of the backdrop removed. Fish still swim under the reels, and despite the compact screen, the theme and general vibe remain on mobile devices. The spin button also takes up a sizeable portion of the screen and offers easy access.
Big Bass Halloween Graphics and Gaming Experience
The spooky theme makes this slot. It sets a suitably chilling tone while simultaneously evoking memories of retro video games. The theme is familiar but original, and the fine details, including royals stitched together like Frankenstein’s monster, set it apart from other Big Bass video slots. The gameplay is the same, but it’s an excellent foundation, so there are no complaints from us.
Big Bass Halloween Bonus Features
There are three main Big Bass Halloween features: the Wild, Free Spins, and the Money symbols. All of these require three, four, or five Scatters before they can do their thing.
Big Bass Halloween Free Spins Feature
Between 10 and 20 Free Spins are up for grabs in the Big Bass Halloween Free Spins feature, and this is when those Fish Money symbols start to make sense. When these symbols land in combination with a Wild, you’ll collect the values shown, giving you anywhere from 2x to 2,000x the bet.
The game collects Wilds throughout the feature, and every fourth Wild adds 10 Free Spins and bumps up the Money symbol multiplier (capped at 10x).

Big Bass Halloween Slot Summary
As far as the features and gameplay are concerned, the Big Bass Halloween slot machine is more of the same from Pragmatic Play. The Money symbols and Wilds offer huge potential during the Free Spins, which you’ll spend most of your time chasing. The Halloween aesthetic adds something a little different and will give you some seasonal spins during the spooky season.
But don’t just take our word for it. Take the slot demo of Big Bass Halloween for a spin and see for yourself.
A slot from Pragmatic Play based on a fishing theme and the halloween theme continues in this series with this 3rd release. It still has the same 5 reels and 3 rows and 10 paylines to make you feel familiar with it but it has a twist in that it uses the mechanism of some bass games where you collect a fisherman in the feature that is living and one is a zombie. It still comes with a player friendly low 0.10 per spin making it good for low rollers too.
As with all of these fishy Bass games the feature you get just by getting 3 more fishy scatters to get you started, there won’t be any upgrades at the start of a feature you just get into it and it starts spinning. There is the living fisherman in blue and the dead fisherman in red, they both can appear on the reels during the feature and the more of them you collect the more prizes you win if fish symbols appear on the reels. Collect 4 of the same fisherman will get you 10 extra spins and then it pays 2x for any wins with that fisherman. You can get upto 10x wins if you reach all the way to the end.
The music in this game in the base game has a halloween type spooky theme as you would expect from these types of games and is once again suitable.
I found that during my real money play on this slot that features would appear once every 153 spins but the game is designed with 1 in 113. So under the average. You can play the game with extra bet on which costs 50% extra to increase chance of getting the feature. You can skip the base game grind by buying the bonus for 100x or the super bonus for 300x
Max win for this slot is still a good 5000x and that makes it worth playing in my book even though there are much higher max win slots out there. This slot does come with a high volatility design to it. And about that max win probability would you believe it is 1 in 2,544,391.
As for the RTP that is with this slot, I found it comes in 3 versions, 96.5, 95.5 and 94.5, I got to experience the 96.5 and 94.5.
I found that during my real play on it all the features paid low, all of them under 100x, the highest being 82x. That is typical of bass games but still. Think I will stick to other bass games and I will say if you like boxing themes then there is a bass game with that too and a vegas theme as well and they both use the payout structure and mechanism.
