How to Play Asgardian Stones Slot

We all know that slots have different controls and ways of playing. Before you start collecting the Asgardian Stones, you need to set learn how to play this one.

  • Coin denominations can be set by clicking on Coin Value +/- section, and Level +/- can set the number of coins per line.
  • By clicking on Max Bet you will set the maximum bet available and spin the reels automatically at that bet.
  • Spin will set the reels in motion once you decided on your betting range.
  • Autoplay will turn the reels automatically for a chosen number of times without interruption.

Slot Features

W rune is the Wild symbol and it can substitute for all the symbols in the game, except for the Bonus Wheel.

The Avalanche feature allows symbols to fall into position in the reels, instead of the regular spin. A winning bet line will start an Avalanche. Symbols in winning combos will explode and disappear which will make space for second Avalanche symbols. The Avalanche will continue till there are no winning combos.

All symbols in both the main game and the Free Spins bonus game appear as a colossal version, except for the Wild symbol in the main game. The Colossal symbol appears as a block of 2x2 or 3x3 symbol. They can get fully or partially displayed depending on how the reels end. Symbols in the winning combos explode and disappear. Once the colossal symbol explodes the remaining symbols drop to the bottom leaving space for new Avalanche-induced symbols. It’s not possible to have more than one visible colossal symbol on the reels.

Colossal Crush

After the first Avalanche the Colossal Crush feature can be activated. This can happen during both the main game and the bonus game. In order for this to happen the colossal symbol must always have symbols in all positions directly under it. If there are still empty spaces the colossal symbol falls and crushes all symbols in the row below. This continues until all the symbols have been crushed. For each crushed row, a multiplier increases by one and can go up to x4. The multiplier meter is left from the reels.

The Bonus Wheel

The Bonus Wheel symbol block is 3x3 big and it can land only on the last 3 reels during both the main game and bonus game. It can land fully or partially visible. You can win either Spins or Coins on the wheel once it stops spinning. There is no Avalanche after this symbols wins are awarded. A coin win from the Bonus Wheel is 1, 2 or 5 times the total bet with the maximum coin win being x36 total bet. As for the Spins, if the Wheels stops on the spins field, you may win 5 Spins.

There are 3 field with 5 spins, which means that eventually you may end up winning up to 15 spins. During this feature, the Wild may be colossal symbol. If it forms a win then it will be split in 1x1 Wild. Wild symbols which are a part of winning combo will explode and disappear. The Bonus Wheel can be reactivated maximum 3 times which means that you can win up to 25 spins.

Asgardian Stones slot offers 96.31% of theoretical RTP which is pretty good for this kind of slot, and all this is topped loads of bonus features. As you spin the reels you will get the feel that you are on the cusp of meeting these Nordic gods, which is something you will surely appreciate if you’re a fan of Norse mythology.

The ‘Asgardian Stones’ video slot from Netent Software. A beautifull and dark title with 5 Avalance reels and 20 Paylines. Based on the Norse god Odin and his home… Asgard.

The 5 Higher value symbols are all representations of gods from the Norse mythology! The lower value symbos are Q/K/A. All these symbols can appear as colossal 2×2 or 3×3 icons. The Wild is a gold ‘W’ which will substitute for all others to help form winning combos except for the Huge bonus Wheel. The ‘Colossal Crush’ feature can occur, if a 2×2 or 3×3 symbols falls in to replace others, if there are empty spaces below it, it will crush the rows beneath it, increasing the Multiplier value on the left hand side by 1x with each drop up to a maximum of 4x. When it’s stopped falling (or reaches the bottom) any wins are evaluated and the multiplier value is applied. The Bonus Wheel, is triggered by landing all or part of the 3×3 Bonus Wheel on reels 3/4/5 it will spin in place and a maximum of 3 of it’s segments will be highlighted, depending on how much of it is in view.

Originality is very important, something that is new and never seen before. We all know that most games have similar concept and in some cases there are a slight diffence to stand out from the other. Thor is a Marvel character that has been used as theme but lately games providers went deeper than the god of thunder.
iSoftBet has released Legend of Loki early this year, Loki is the evil brother of Thor and I mentioned in my previous review that there are many hero themed games and there are no villain themed games, apparently games providers listened to this because more and more of them will come in the next future, villains are just important as heroes. BML Group Limited casinos have an exclusive game with the name Asgards, this game is provided by Pragmatic Play and as you can guess, this is also based on the Asgard, the place where Thor and his family lives.

NetEnt's Asgardian Stones is an original game but it is an indirect connection to Asgard, the game looks good, the graphics are outstanding and the gameplay is something I've never seen before, for example instead of scatters they added a big stone wheel that can appear in every spin, this stone wheel contains cash prizes and up to 15 free spins can be won, so far I only managed to win 10 free spins, winning the max free spins is hard but it is not impossible.

On the left side of the game you'll see a multiplier stone floating, those multipliers only active when a large stone falls down and crushes the smaller stones below it, prizes can be multiplied by 4 which is not that big at first but you'd be surprised what you can win with those multiplier. Personally I think the multiplier should be activated on a winning spin, just like Gonzo's Quest. Speaking of Gonzo's Quest, I think Asgardian Stones is a 'secretly' sequel to Gonzo's Quest but that's just my assumption.

All and all, Asgardian Stones is not a bad game, it has a decent payout and the stone theme is better than I thought, the only downside of this game is the absent of the fastforward button which makes it a slow paced game but other than that, I enjoyed playing it. It is not NetEnt greatest game but it's close.

Remember the Spaniard explorer who went in search of the lost El-Dorado treasure? No, not that Jim explorer from Microgaming, but that Gonzo explorer from NetEnt. So, what would you get when Nordic Gods decide to become treasure hunters like Jim and Gonzo? Yeah, you get Asgardian Stones - Asgardian Gods, in Gonzo's shoes, and turned into stones, probably because they aren't supposed to be hunting for lost treasure! Hahaha.

Anyway, in this game, you get to play with the Asgardian Gods, and get to see some interesting sequences not found in Gonzo's game. What are they? Well, firstly, these gods come in massive colossal symbols of either 2x2 or 3x3 sizes. Not only that, they tend to crush those puny little symbols under them, and increasing the win multiplier by x1 with each row crushed, providing up to a 4x multiplier for wins. Hmm, pretty interesting that. The other interesting thing is the colossal Wheel, 3x3 in size, doing the same crushing sequences too, but giving out coins or free spins instead. The Wild symbol can also appear as a colossal symbol, like the Asgardian Gods symbols, but breaking back into regular Wild symbols after a win. That's something new there, right? Hehehe.

Other than that, the game plays and pays as per current trend of very low payouts. The Wild symbols do not pay anything, that Scatter Wheel symbol also do not pay anything, whilst Odin, the highest paying symbol, pays only 500x the line bet (25x total bet) for 5 of him. The other symbols pay from 300x down to just 30x the line bet for any 5 of them, making the paytable a very low one. Theoretically, the best possible win would be getting 5 Odin symbols with a 4x multiplier, for a 100x total bet win per winning payline. How many winning paylines possible? I wouldn't know for sure, but getting 20 paylines of Odin would be impossible, simply because there can only be one colossal symbol at any one time! So, in the end, the paytable still sucks, and the payouts still sucks too!

Nevertheless, I like playing this Asgardian Stones game, because it plays and pays quite similarly to Finn And The Swirly Spin game, which has become my favourite game lately. No big wins can be expected, no doubt, but a small win may come quite quickly! And I also like the long extended play time that can be achieved with this game, very similarly with that Finn game.
