Ancient Egypt Classic is a slot from Pragmatic Play that I first heard about a long time ago when there was an exclusive tournament for this slot. However, at the time I wasn't too keen on Pragmatic Play slots so I didn't take part in it, but lately I've been exploring more of their titles and since Ancient Egypt Classic is one of their more popular slots, I decided to give it a go.

The slot itself is quite classic, just like its title says- it's inspired by the Ancient Egypt theme and is also simple in it's structure- there's 10 paylines, wild symbol and a free spins bonus round- no base game feature or anything too thrilling. I'd even say that it's Pragmatic Play's different version of Book of Dead slot as the free spins bonus is a typical "Book" bonus round you've probably experienced many times before from many other game providers.

There are some things I like about this slot. First of all, I think it's a good game for low-rolling as the minimum bet is only 0.10 cents and that's the bet I play it with. Secondly, the scatter symbols also work as wilds so when you land the bonus round with 3 or more scatters, you can possibly get a good win for triggering bonus if it makes a 5oak or other combination with the scatter wilds. The bonus itself isn't too exciting- you get 10 free spins without a multiplier and one of the game symbols will be chosen to expand during the free spins. If you retrigger the feature, you'll be playing out the remaining bonus with the symbol you have and then get 10 extra spins with a new symbol. I have to say, I have played several thousand spins on this game and I do enjoy it based on the fact that base game gives small yet frequent wins and it allows you to keep your balance steady. The free spins can be a bit difficult to trigger and for the most part it's not easy to get a win over 100x bet unless you have 4oak of a high paying symbol expanding. I've had around 15 bonus rounds and the average payout I'd get is 50x-70x bet, which again, isn't amazing but has helped me to keep my balance steady. My biggest win was 300x bet when I managed to retrigger the feature but had only low-paying expanding symbols. 

Overall I do enjoy this game as I don't have too high expectations for it. The design is nice and the payouts are average which I don't mind as far as the game hasn't given me big losses thus far. However, I don't think this is a "must try" game as there's nothing too thrilling about it and although it can pay big, it's really difficult to achieve that.

The only difference is with some slots with this feature if retriggered the same symbol is chosen or a different symbol on each retrigger.

I actually gave this slot close to 20 000 spins if I am not mistaken and I am still not impressed. I eventually had a decent x1000 winner but 90% of the time I win between 5 – 25x my total bet. I am not sure how the maths behind this slot works, but you will never see this in any other similar slot like book of dead or ra. Triggering the free spins is a mission, I went close to 500 spins without a feature and then a win of x10 whenever I trigger the free spins. I do not like this slot that much, however unlike other similar slots this one keeps the balance steady at times and some decent base game hits every now and then. I would most probably play the normal Ancient Egypt more often than this one and take my gamble chances on the bonus feature.

After playing about 300 Free Spins games on this Ancient Egypt Classic game, I now need to do an updated comment on it, purely not to mislead other players by my initial review.

Although the paytable of the game may look very good, with a maximum single win of 5000x the total bet by getting all of Cleopatra's Expanding Symbols during the free spins, unfortunately, I think this is all just a big hoax! Yes, that max win may be possible to get, but it would most probably come only once in a lifetime! Why do I say this? Simply because the numerous times that I had gotten Cleopatra as the selected Expanding Symbol, she almost completely disappears from the free spins each and every time, leaving 1, 2 or very rarely 3 symbols to appear...never 4, never all 5! Not only that, out of the many Free Spins games that I had played, 8 or 9 out of the 10 free spins would be completely without any win! That's a total disappointment and something which I would never have expected!

In comparison, I have played many other similar games, such as Book Of Ra, Book Of Dead, Book Of Tattoo, Captain's Treasure, etc, but all those games have played and paid significantly better than Pragmatic Play's Ancient Egypt Classic!

So, before you start playing this game, consider yourself warned! Hehehe.

Cleopatra has never been that kind or good to me - none of her games have ever given me good nice wins, except for RTG's Coins Of Cleopatra, but even that win wasn't really good I must admit. So when Pragmatic Play released this Ancient Egypt Classic exclusive tournament at Askgamblers, I was determined to enter it. However, I had to miss out on the first part of the tourney, simply because my Neteller was 'sick', but my local favourite Asian-based casino suddenly installed Pragmatic Play's platform, and out of the blue, gave me that chance to participate after all. Yay!

Within 3 straight days of playing the game, I had managed to get and collect about 20 winning screenshots so far, each being of 50x total bet win or more, but I'm still trying my best to get that big win screenie to chase for the top prize, hehehe. Unlike PlaynGo's Book Of Dead game, which played horribly for me each and every time I had played it, Pragmatic's Ancient Egypt Classic game was the opposite. In fact, I am rather enjoying the game right now, the free spins do come quite often, and the longest empty stretch so far has been about 700 spins, which is only to be expected of a high volatile game, but definitely not as ridiculous as BTG's Bonanza game, which could go for a few thousands of empty spins!

Needless to say, the best possible single win is an incredible 5000x the total bet amount, by getting all of Cleopatra's Expanding symbols on the 5 reels during the free spins game, but of course, not everyone may get the lucky opportunity to win it. But, if you don't try, you definitely won't get it, would you? Hehehe.

Honestly speaking, there isn't anything that I don't like about this game. The game play is good, the payouts are decent about half the time, the maximum possible win is more than 5000x the total bet amount (within 1 free spins game), and I haven't encountered a blardy long empty spins stretch so far, so I ain't complaining. However, probably many other players may face an opposite situation playing this game, but this is also only to be expected of any game. To me personally, Ancient Egypt Classic is currently better than PNG's Book Of Dead, or any other similar expanding-symbols game.
