Almighty Aztec: My Sun-Kissed Curiosity And Radiant Let Down!
Almighty Aztec, the warm slot game that promises to transport you to the mystical world of ancient Mesoamerica but ends up feeling more like a budget trip to Cancun. As I wittily fired up this Microgaming/Games Global creation available on LeoVegas, I couldn't help but wonder if I was in for a large eye sore for golden treasures or just another serving of stone-cold let downs.
Let's face it, Games Global slots are about as consistent as my gym routine, sometimes they pump you up, other times they leave you feeling flabby and defeated. But hey, someone out "in the forum" hit the Mega Jackpot, so there's hope for us all, right? (Spoiler alert: probably not lol).
At a fair 10 paylines, expanding sun symbols, and a "snake-like" creature called the "Quetzalcoatl". Sounds exotic, doesn't it? Well, don't get too excited. This Quetzalcoatl is about as generous as a loan shark, occasionally tossing you one, two or three sun symbols to expand on the reels. Sometimes they don't pay especially when the reel it chooses is the 4th reel!
It's like playing a good session of hot potato with the sun, except you're more likely to get burned than win big here.
Oh geez, free spins! Five whole spins where sun symbols stick to the middle reels like a bad persistent sunburn. Sounds great, right? Well, it would be if Lady Luck wasn't on an extended vacation. Getting those sun symbols to land early is crucial, otherwise you'll be as disappointed as Simon Cowell at a judging audition.
In the end, Almighty Aztec is about as almighty as a rubber chicken. Sure, it's got random wild expansions and held wilds during the 5 free spins, but the potential for winning is about as impressive as my high school talent show performance.
If this slot were auditioning for "Aztec's Got Talent," Simon Cowell would probably say, "I've seen more excitement in a history textbook." It's close to terrible, but it's not exactly setting the gaming world on fire for the long run.
On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give Almighty Aztec a solid 6. It's the slot equivalent of a participation trophy....you showed up, you spun but you're not exactly going home with treasure chests full of gold. Given the comparison of Zeus vs Hades to this I'd say it's not too disappointing compared to the 10 free spins ZvH would award due to it's high volatility! That slot alone cannot give me a break!
