Did you like playing the game 'Golden Era', also from Microgaming? If you do, then this Star Appeal will appeal to you too. Why? Because it shares the same 'celebrity' concept, about stars being in the limelight, and is also all about movie stars, although none has been specifically represented. This game would have been so much nicer had there been iconic pictures of famous celebrities, such as found in some other games, like Marilyn Monroe or Top Trumps Celebs, both from Playtech. Those are nice games, but not my favourites, hehehe.

This 30-paylines game has 'Starlet' as the Wild symbol, 5 of which pays 5000x the line bet, and substitutes for other symbols except the Scatter symbol. Another dumb Wild symbol, sadly. It should at least double all wins with it, but it doesn't. The Yellow Star is the Scatter symbol, paying the usual 100x the total bet for 5 of them, and getting 3 or more of these Scatters trigger 10 free spins with all wins doubled. Aw gees! Just 10 free spins with a 2x multiplier? That's way down lower than the usual of 10 free spins with a 5x multiplier. Worse still, the Free Spins game cannot be retriggered at all. Damn! As for the other symbols, the Agent pays 3500x, the Cameraman pays 2000x, and all the others pay from 750x to 100x, all per line bet for 5 of each kind. An average paytable.

In the Free Spins game, pick 3 Star symbols to reveal more free spins, multipliers, or a Special Substitute, whereby all the Agent symbols are transformed into Extra Wild symbols during the free spins. Nope, it doesn't double any wins with it, which doesn't make it any special at all. It's just the same dumb Extra Wild symbol as the Starlet Wild symbol. Why call it a 'Special Substitute' then? Might as well just call it an Extra Wild. That would have made more sense.
Unlike in the game 'Golden Era', where there are 2 feature games available, the Free Spins game and the Bonus game, there is only the Free Spins game in Star Appeal. In this sense, Golden Era would be a better game to play than Star Appeal, because of its more winning chances. Furthermore, 10 free spins with a 2x multiplier isn't exciting at all, even though another multiplier can be won in the picks, but that doesn't always happen. None for me anyway. All I could get were 2, 3 or 5 more free spins, without any additional multiplier, which ended up with mediocre payouts of between 25x to 60x my bet amount. That wasn't exciting at all for me.

I would say that Star Appeal is a very girly game because of the symbols and all the sparkles. It is another game from Microgaming software. I played this game out of curiosity but on a minimum bet. I remember when I opened the game I said to myself I will not lose more than 10 euros on this slot. I got a couple of good line hits and I opened the bonus once, but it was nothing special.

As I said before, I really believe that this is a game that was created for the ladies because its main inspiration seems to be the glitzy and glamorous Hollywood. It is a 5 reel 30 pay line game that comes from the Microgaming software. There is a range of symbols like Blonde Starlet, an Agent, awards, paparazzi, small dogs in handbags.

The best thing in this game is the bonus game feature. If you are lucky to have 3 or more scatter symbols anywhere on the reels you can open this feature. You can win 10 free spins. Each spin will offer you the chance to double your winnings with 2 x multiplier. Another interesting thing here is that you are offered 9 stars from which you have to choose 3. There are extra 15 spins, special substitute free spins and some cash prizes hiding behind those stars. But the fun does not end up here. This game has more to offer after you win some free spins. You get an additional free spins which add value to the initial amount of the free spins. I remember when I was playing I was anxious to see the special substitute symbol which has the power to transform all of the agent`s symbols into Starlet symbols and to see all my prizes doubled, but unfortunately that did not happened. Hopefully next time it will.
Star Appeal game is powered by microgaming. I am not a big fan of this game and to be honest dont play it that much. When i do open it though i would not play more than €20 on it. There are 30 lines in this game and the minimum bet is €0.30. I usually bet €0.30 or €0.60 and have had a couple of good line hits and bonuses. My bet line hit was five camera man on €0.30 bet. It was nothing amazing, i think it was around €20.

The feature on the other hand is not too bad. I would admit that it is a bit difficult to get the feature and it took me ages to get it. To get the feature i had to get three or more stars anywhere on the reels. When i finally got it i was very excited. I love the pick bonus games and this one is just what i like. You start with 10 free spins and you can pick cash prizes or more free spins. Out of 10 times i only get the cash prize, but sometimes i would get 5 more spins. On a €0.60 bet max i ever won was around €30. I do think that there is potential in this game but i could not get anything good.

Over all the game has nice graphics and the sound effects are ok. I would not recommend this game because i dont really like it enough to recommend it. I guess you could try it just to see what it is like. If i was to rate this game i would give it 5 out of 10.

Star Appeal is a celebrity themed video slot from Microgaming that I kind of like. It isn't the type that I would play on a daily basis but more of a "go to sometimes" slot. It's 30 paylines and has a feature bonus of different prizes.

I have spent many times playing this slot on some of the Fortune Lounge casinos so I can tell you that it's a good video slot. What to look out for are not just the Lady celebrity substitute but also the Star Scatters that will lead you to this bonus round. Inside the bonus, it gives me a chance to pick out 3 stars that may hold credits, more free spins to top up the existing 10 Free spins at 2x, or the special substitute. The Special Substitute when won will turn the Agent symbols into Starlet Wilds....indicated as the gold Starlets so it means much more chances to win in free spins! The highest combination that I made so far for $0.60 is for 5 Paparazzi symbols in a reversed "V" shaped payline that gave me $30....I believe.

10 Free spins at 2x multiplier + potential to hit other prizes are a good way to begin this bonus round! It kind of reminds me of Glory for Rome only there are more prizes to win instead of Extra Free spins and Credits only.
There are a few negative things to consider when playing Star Appeal. First of all, scatters in my opinion don't tend to appear too often...sometimes they can appear only as a pair but not in 3's.

Second, the bonus round mostly has prize amounts so there will be less options to get more free spins. Multipliers must at least be 3x and they need to add multiplier boosts inside the bonus with the credit prizes to make a better impression!
