The land-based machine imitation interface is well-visible though I guess the paytable area could have been bigger but it doesn’t ruin the experience at all. The symbols are space ship and other familiar but uncategorizable ones and the accompanying background and winnings indicator music is also fit the atmosphere well so in my eyes this product is achieved its goal and can take me back in time and more or less gives the feeling of that initial time.
The slot’s top prize is only 300 coins by using the max. bet but on the other side it has a great multi-level free spin feature system. If 3 Space Ship land on the reels we get 10 free spins at x 2 multiplier then every level needs more Space Ship symbols to be appear while reaching the 5th level where the multiplier number is an amazing x 100. Fortunately, the required 3 such figures per level can be collected and pass from level to levels so no need to get 3 of them every stage.
It’s really a great feature and I like it a lot however so far I haven’t had too much success on it and maybe I just could get through 3 or 4 levels and the final rewards for this wasn’t too generous (maybe 5-8 times of my bet). This is the only feature, extra of the game if I don’t count that little positive thing that some symbols no need to gather 3 of them because already 2 identical figures can pay some back.
Beside the great free spins the main game segment unfortunately follows the footsteps of the exterior and playing the game it’s almost like when I played those video games for just pure fun. Space Arcade has not too much to offer for a modern day gamblers in rewarding aspect because in my experience the slot has poor payout tendency. Of course at this type of machines the longer stretches without remarkable winnings occurs more frequently but sometimes I run into such cold streaks here that really hurt my balance.
That’s why I’ve said it really was as if I played in the past when the entertainment factor was the only thing I chased but by now when money’s on the line it’s very far from being enough. So I’m just saying if someone is in nostalgic mood and wants to evoke some memories of a bygone era, Space Arcade definitely can give it to her/him but other than that the slot must improve much especially in the payout area.
