Okay, so here we go with yet another Asian-themed game from Microgaming, but this time, the focus is on the Asian women from the different countries, from China to Korea, Japan, Thailand, India and Pakistan. Well, there are many more Asian countries not in the list, but to include all would be impossible I guess. So only the most easily recognisable ones are chosen to be the symbols in this game. The overall impression of the game looks nice enough but not up to astonishing levels. To me, the quality of the graphics is only secondary. What's more important is how the game plays and pays.

The logo itself is the Wild symbol, 5 of which pays 2500x the line bet, which is much lower than the usual. It doesn't doubles any wins with it, it doesn't come stacked, nor does it expand on the reels. Yep, they are true blue dumb Wilds, typical of many Microgaming games. The Temple is the Scatter symbol, but doesn't pay for itself in this instance, and getting 3 or more of them triggers the Palace Bonus game, which is actually the Free Spins game, but with an added cash bonus award, probably as replacement for the omitted Scatters wins. There are 3 kinds of Free Spins games available - from 10 - 15 free spins game , from 15 - 20 free spins game and from 20 - 40 free spins, triggered by 3, 4 or 5 Scatters respectively. This Jewels of the Orient game, for example, only gave the first Free Spins game after almost 200 spins, but paid a decent 44x my bet amount. The second Free Spins game came after about 150 spins, the third after over 500 spins, the next after 380 spins, and so on. They are certainly blardy hard to come by, doesn't pay that much, no win has exceeded 70x my bet amount so far, and the Free Spins game mostly award 12 free spins with a 2x multiplier, and with mostly a 900 coins bonus award. Hardly interesting at all. In fact, I found the base game rather boring and made me sleepy!

Even if this game has astonishing graphics and has really beautiful Asian girls for its icons, I wouldn't want to come back and play it again. I don't want to fall asleep every time I play it. Nosirree!

I also like how the creators of the game selected girls from different Asian countries for the symbols. So the lady in blue is Indian, the one in the orange is Thai, the red one is Chinese, the pink one is Japanese and the green one is Korean.

In the bonus round you have to select a gift. There are 3 men each holding a gift and I chose the blue one and got 12 free spins. Then you have to pick again for a multiplier and I got x 2. On the third pick I got 900 coins and after this the bonus started. I got 42 euros in the free spins bonus. In the last spin I even had 5 wilds on an active pay line but it did not paid so much. Next time I got 14 free spins and again x 2 multiplier and only 450 coins. I got only 42.50 euros from this bonus round. The bonus round is not only interesting but it is triggered very often. The number of scatters you get to trigger the bonus round are also very important. They will later determine the value of the choices that you make.

The payouts during the base game are good too. The most that I have got was 30 x bet for 5 of a kind symbols. I really enjoyed playing this slot and I loved to see the money rolling in on my balance. I was getting money constantly, most of the times the wins were not that big, but my balance never dropped. Isn't that exactly what everyone is looking for in a game, constant wins and thrill.

The theme about game is good, but I do not have any good luck at this kind of themed games. And the same happen here at this game. Only bad luck and nothing more. The base game is not so good for me. I wish there would be some more highest pay out symbols. I had many times two Jewels orient symbols and it pays poor. I expected so much more when I had those symbols on the reels. The paytable could be much better during base game and I was a little bit disappointed. I think free spins feature is good because you can win up to 40 free spins. This is really high number for 9 payline video slot machine, but I think the free spins is hard to get. During my session I never had any free spins feature. I think two scatter symbols could pay back something. I will rate it with 5 stars.

Once more, Jewels of the Orient has similar applications as I would find on Fat Lady sings. 3 scattered palaces (instead of 3 opera masks) have been fixed up to 15 Free spins when triggered. I just don't appreciate that 3 scatters will be limited, some video slots which are more fortunate in providing more have been the video slots I like to see.

Features are better if there aren't any fences blocking out the amount of what can be won! The same really goes for the bonus win...for 3 scattered palaces the bonus win is set up. A limitless win can be more than appreciative then a fixed win!

If you get three scatters you can maximum get 15 free spins, with four scatters you get 20 free spins max and with five scatters you can get up to 40 free spins. I personally never got five scatters, but i did get four good few times. Max amount of free spins i won was 20 with 4 times multiplier. On €0.18 bet i won around €46. I think its great.
