B3W chose this story for their 25-payline lot game named d’Artagnan and we can think it carries the possibility to entertain and in lucky situation reward its players, but....
The slot uses only the well-known characters from the story (d’Artagnan, musketeers, Cardinal Richelieu, Milady) but there are no objects or any other things that specific of that age and they have not the best graphics. Overall, it has a simple design, simple look but nothing special and I just can’t feel the atmosphere what they represent.
The bet variations are very limited as it offers just €0.02 coin value per line (max. 10 coins) and the total bet can be no more than €5. That’s the limit so this game is definitely not for high roller players and considering the best paying symbol’s maximum win is x5000 coins, the highest winnable amount of the slot at normal game can’t be exceeded €2000. I’m not sure that would too tempting for many players and it’s even counted by 2 five-of-a-kind wins because the game’s winning combinations are valid from right to left direction, too. Unfortunately, we can’t call the wild, Crown symbol for any help as it doesn’t add any profit to it and act just a substitute though it has expending wild function.
By the hills and valley bonus game is also very simple as the players have to pick 1 city of 20 where Cardinals corps are located and after a short battle the won amount is already indicated. It’s really not a great bonus and I like better the Intrigue at the court extra. There are 24 windows that all hide someone and we have to pick from them until 3 identical symbols are revealed. The only King figure if it’s selected doubles the rewards of the bonus game which is the total value of 3 symbols multiplied by the number of coins bet per line.
Sorry to say that but with all my kindliness I find d’Artagnan just a moderate slot game. There’s nothing I could rate higher than average. The appearance is not too eye-catching, the bonuses are not too munificent, the payouts are not too generous and the surrounding mood can’t be detected. The only thing I liked here is the ‘both ways to win’ feature but it’s not enough to compel me to play d’Artagnan in regular intervals.
