The Slotfather game is from BetSoft, with outstandingly beautiful graphics in 3D rendition, and with icons that represent the gangsterism theme very well. I was shocked when I looked at the paytable for the very first time, a couple of years ago, and saw that the game plays without any Wild symbol at all. No wins from getting Wild symbols, and no substituting of other symbols either. A vast difference from any other games that I have played. I don't like it at all. Not then , not even now.

Not having any Wild symbol is one thing, but having Scatter symbols that literally pay peanuts make it even worse. Getting 3 or more of The Slotfather symbols pay nothing, but trigger a Bonus Round, whereby you pick 3 out of 6 locations to install slot machines and win cash prizes. Getting 3 of the Underboss symbols, the fat guy, pays a low 50 credits, but onscreen it display a 'huge win' message. What a big joke! Getting 4 symbols pay 100 credits and getting 5 symbols pay 300 credits. These symbols need to be on any active payline, or else no pay.

Getting the Sammy symbol next to the Suitcase symbol on reel 1, 2 or 3 awards an instant cash prize. Getting the Frankie symbol next to the Machinegun symbol awards the Multiplier Mob Free Spins game of 3 to 10 free spins, with 1x, 2x or 3x multiplier. The first thing that I don't like about The Slotfather is the long loading time required to load up the intro scene, the features scene and the play screen. After first time playing the game, I now always press the 'skip' button to bypass all that time wasting procedure. All BetSoft 3D games are like that, due to the massive data needed to be uploaded. The second thing, the absence of any Wild symbol. This really sucks!

Playing the game can be fun for a short while, but those free spins really need to be much more than just 3 to 10 free spins, and with higher multipliers than just 1x to 3x. My Free Spins games were all absolutely disappointing, getting only 4 to 7 free spins, and with 1x multiplier most of the time, except for one of 2x multiplier. The payouts were from 1x to 12x my bet amount, with nothing bigger than the 12x win, not even in the base game! Even though the features do come quite regularly, on and off, but the miserable payouts would simply turn any player off. Definitely no more playing The Slotfather for me!

But the payouts are not so good at all, I never won x10 bet.

So later because of all small winnings I closed the game. I think this game would be much more fun if it offer better payouts into features, bonuses. Even if bonuses appears quite often, I got bored of all small winnings. I will rate it with 6 stars. The graphics is not so good either.

Slotfather is one of the latest games I explored from Betsoft software. I've tried out most of their games and the name of this slot intrigued me, I assumed it had something to do with mafia. And after playing this game a couple of times, I have to say I like the design and graphics this game has, for some reason I am a fan for crime and mafia type of games so this one suits me well.

So since the theme is based on slot mafia, there are italian type of men who looks like you don't want to mess with them. What I really like about this game is the way the features are triggered. There are 3 features in total, one of them is free spins round and the other two cash prizes. But here I must say, I am not a fan of neither one of the features it has and it is because of the payouts. I've had all of the features many times and not even once I've got a win over 20x bet. I do like that the features are really easy to trigger, for the main bonus it's 3 bonus symbols but for the two others it's a combination of two symbols next to each other on lines 1 2 or 3. At first I thought it would make them harder to trigger, but I get atleast one of those feautres in 100 spins.

Free spins aren't hard to trigger too, they come up as often as the other features but for me they are very disappointing, as you never know how much you'll get, as there are no concrete amount of spins. When you trigger the feature, you need to choose a bullet hole and it shows spins and multiplier. All of the times I've got the smallest amounts, like 3 spins with 1x multiplier, so the winnings have been more than just disappointing.

Then what I also dislike is the main bonus, I understand that charactelly it fits as the main bonus because there's a lot of animation as you need to choose places where to put slot machines and later have a talk with boss, but at the end it is only a pick me cash bonus and my best win there was around 10€. It is nicely designed but it has low payouts.

Overall I have really mixed feelings about this game. I mean, it looks really nicely done and the theme is interesting. But from the other hand, the payouts are low. On base game I haven't seen a win over 10x bet, which considering the fact that this game is expensive with 60 cent min. stakes, it's really easy to lose a lot of money on it. In my last session I lost 40€ on it within 20 minutes of play. I think it is worth trying, but I wouldn't hope for a big win.
