A slot from Hacksaw Gaming and based on a punk style theme. It’s one of Hacksaw Gaming’s 5 reel slots with 15 pay lines on a 5x5 grid. The minimum bet comes in at just a 0.20 per spin which is a suitable amount for all players and goes up to a 100.00 per spin if you have the balance to handle that amount.
There is a wild symbol that has multipliers of 2x or 3x or 5x and several of these wilds can land in the same spin.
The best thing about this slot game is landing the free spins and during my session I did just that by getting 3 free spins scatters and took just 32 spins during my very first session on this game. It was good that I didn’t have to wait so long to see the free spins feature unlike on many other games it can take what seems like forever.
While most free spins features you get given a set amount of free spins however with this slot however you get 3 free spins which get reset each time any win occurs thus it will run and run until you get 3 consecutive dead spins. There are two symbols Cranky the Cat and Sketchy the Skull that each do something during the feature adding values to the symbols above them. The cat can multiply the numbers. At end of the free spins feature these numbers are all added up to give you your winning multiplier.
So how did my very first free spins feature go, it ended up paying exactly 80xBet. I know this slot can pay thousands times and up to 20,000xbet max win. So my 80x was just 0.4% of it’s potential payout. Wish it paid higher but it is what it is maybe another time I will get the wins in the thousands range.
There is a soundtrack for this slot that I would say is quite suitable to the theme.
RTP for the slot sits at above 96% on 96.30% and thus making it a good game to play in terms of return to player percentage. Anything above 96% is worthy to play these days, under 96% you can start to notice the difference.
Gave the slot another short session but didn’t land the bonus although it did tease a number of times.
Base game has plenty of dead spins infact over 95% of the spins I found were dead spins or losses disguised as winning spins, thus what you will always want is to trigger the free spins feature for the fun to start and the big win potential. The slot lacks colours and is very grey and dark and that comes with that punk style theme.
Chaos Crew is a 5 reel slot with 5 rows and 15 paylines from Hacksaw Gaming. I first tried this slot over a year ago- I was seeing a lot of players, including streamers, getting big wins on this game and while I wasn't familiar with Hacksaw Gaming, it definitely made me interested in trying this game. I also think that this is one if not the game that made Hacksaw Gaming noticed in the industry. Because nowadays we see new game providers being launched every other day, and to stand out you really need to have the it factor. And for Hacksaw, I think the thing that makes them stand out are multipliers in their games, bold game designs and extreme volatility. And let me tell you, Chaos Crew is no exception.
The game itself is inspired by a punk rock theme- it has mostly grey/ dark design with pops of neon colors. Visually I think it looks nice and it's not a grim looking slot like it is for some other providers. In the base game, in my opinion, there's not too much excitement- you want to land the cat symbol which is a wild symbol and can also be a mystery multiplier to multiply your win. I haven't had any big wins from the wilds in the base game but it's definitely something that makes the base game a bit more interesting. But in all fairness, I don't really play the base game much as I don't find it too exciting.
The star of the show in this game is the free spins bonus. You can trigger it by getting 3 bonus symbols. Alternatively, you can buy the bonus for 129x your bet. I've done it a few times as getting the bonus naturally seems a bit hard. The bonus round starts with 3 free spins- however, landing symbols will reset the free spins back to 3. Here is when you want to see different cat features on top of the reels. In the bonus round, you only see different values, such as 10x, 1x etc. And whenever you land one of the unique symbols, they can do the following- add an extra value to the same reel it landed on, add an extra value to all reels, multiply the reel or multiply all reels. So what you really want is to get good values on all reels and then get multipliers. However, that is easier said than done. I've had dozens of bonus features and most of the time, I can't even get a 50x win. The bonus round is extremely volatile and I think that only a few times I've had a win over 100x. I've also had some bonus rounds not paying 20x- that's how volatile the game is.
Overall I think that the concept is quite interesting, while it reminds me a bit of Money Train with the multipliers, resetting free spins and unique symbols, the game design is fresh and exciting. But having played this game many times and not seeing any major wins, it's definitely not my go-to game and it feels too volatile for my liking.
