BGaming is constantly treating players with new casino games and one such game has caught our attention. Penalty Duel provides an immersive experience for players who want something a bit different. The exciting game puts you in the role of a penalty taker or the goalkeeper (your choice), bringing you multipliers with each goal or save!
We’ve had a chance to sit down with Vasili Pauliuchenko, Game Producer at BGaming who talked more about the exciting release. You can read the entire interview below!
Hey Vasili, thank you for talking to AskGamblers players. To start things off, can you tell us more about the Penalty Duel? What type of game is it and who is it for?
Penalty Duel is a casual football-themed game with quick wins and very simple mechanics, so it’s easy to get into, even for new players. It’s designed mainly for players from Latin America, Europe, and the CIS region, especially those who enjoy football and betting.
Because of its high RTP and straightforward gameplay, it appeals to both beginners and more experienced players who are looking for fast-paced, rewarding sessions.
This is a first-person game, while you can also choose between a kicker and a goalkeeper and it’s not a usual casino game. Could you tell our players more about gameplay and features?
With the setting inspired by Rio, Penalty Duel offers two distinct game modes – players can switch between playing as a kicker or a goalkeeper. Each role has its own style and volatility, so the experience changes depending on the choice.
In the bonus round, every winning multiplier builds on the next, unlocking potential for very high payouts up to a x4,860 max win.
The game is played from a first-person perspective, which adds more immersion, and rounds are short, just around 10 seconds, keeping the pace fast and focused.
We noticed the golden ball and golden gloves which offer a chance to multiply wins. Why should players toggle on the golden button?
This is the Chance x5 option that slightly increases the bet and activates a chance to boost the resulting multiplier by an extra x5 – either through the golden ball if you're the kicker, or golden gloves if you're the goalkeeper. It’s a small change, but it adds a new dynamic to the gameplay.
Some players use it to make rounds more intense or increase their results during tournaments. It’s also popular in streams, since it brings a bit more tension and unpredictability.
Let’s walk behind the scenes a bit. Who came up with the idea for the game and what were some of the challenges you’ve faced (if any)?
The idea for the game came during a time when casual football games were gaining a lot of attention. We wanted to create something that would fit into that trend but still feel fresh.
The Rio de Janeiro setting was inspired by our visit to SiGMA Americas in Brazil. Experiencing the vibrant energy of the country, the lively streets, the music, and the warmth of the people left a strong impression on us. That atmosphere naturally found its way into the game, giving it a colorful and unforgettable vibe right from the start.
One of the biggest challenges was balancing the goalkeeper mode. It took a lot of effort to ensure the math stayed fair while keeping the gameplay dynamic and engaging. Finding that balance was important to making the game enjoyable and trustworthy for all players.
You guys work on a wide range of games. What’s in the pipeline for BGaming after Penalty Duel? Can we expect to see similar games in the future?
Yes, indeed, our team has already released several football‑themed titles, for example, Football Plinko and Penalty Duel, which we launched around the time of the Club World Cup. And that’s just the beginning. We’re actively working on more projects.
Very soon, we’ll be releasing a celebrity slot that you can think of as a kind of sequel to Penalty Duel, this time featuring a legendary Colombian goalkeeper you definitely know. We’re incredibly excited about this collaboration and will be able to share all the details with you within the next month!
On top of that, we have several new first‑person and sports‑themed projects in the works, designed specifically with crypto audiences and mobile platforms in mind. As we look ahead to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, you can expect even more football titles and sports‑inspired experiences to come.
We wanted to thank Vasili for his time talking about Penalty Duel. You can play the game on AskGamblers, read the game review and share your own impressions.
