Okay, quiz time. Who is the Prince of Sherwood? Prince Charles-wood? Nope. Robin sidekick of Batman? Nope. Robin Hood? Clever boy! There are many versions of Robin Hood, under many titles, some are fairly new, but this one is an RTG oldie. As the graphics and sound are not that interesting or well presented, 1 star down.

Robin Hood had a high prize on his head, but this Prince of Sherwood (Wild symbol) is a cheapskate, so to speak, for he doesn’t have any value on his head. He only doubles all wins with it. The Castle, the Scatter symbol, pays a low 100 x total bet amount, while the King’s soldier has a 2500 x line bet prize on his head. The Archery Board is the trigger symbol for the Archery Feature game and does not pay anything for itself too. Every symbol in Prince of Sherwood is either lowly prized or not prized at all. 2 stars down.

The Archery Feature game is awarded when 3 or more Archery Board symbols appear on reels 1, 2 and 3 at least. In the Archery feature game, you pick either Robin or the Soldier to shoot arrows at the archery board, thereby awarding a cash prize, free spins (5, 10, 15, 20 or 25) and a win multiplier (2 x, 3 x, 4 x, 5 x or 6 x). The Archery Boards pay up to 200 x the total bet for 5-of-its-kind during the free spins but doesn’t pay anything in the main game. This feature game, however, cannot be retriggered. Too bad. 1 star down.

At first, I was wondering why there were two types of scatters– the Castle and the Archery Board scatter symbols. This only became clear once I’ve started playing the game. The Castle is the standard scatter symbol while the Archery Board pays only during free spins, acting as an extra scatter symbol. In the main game, it only awards the feature game, no wins paid. On my first free feature game, I chose Robin over the Soldier, and what a lousy Robin it was! He shot his first arrow, hitting just inside than the soldier’s shot, awarding a miserable 3 x total bet amount. In the second round, Robin hit the edge of the archery board, awarding 5 free spins, his next arrow again hit the edge, awarding a 2 x win multiplier! What kind of Robin Hood was this? A damn lousy archer! What could I ever hoped to win from 5 free spins at a 2 x win multiplier? A less than 10 x total bet win, that’s what it was! In another free game, Robin did only slightly better, awarding 10 free spins at 3 x multiplier. Payout was about 15 x total bet. The best win I got was about 25 x my total bet. And that was it. Robin Hood or no Robin Hood, I’m not playing with any lousy archer! I quit and lost. 2 stars down.
