Fire In The Hole 2 can be summarized as the upgrade of it's previous Fire In The Hole with more note-worthy features. The comeback wild mining to clear the board, the new saw symbol and in free spins the crystals!
While I'm about to take myself on a wild cart ride through the treacherous tunnels of Fire In The Hole 2, this explosive sequel had me digging very deep into my pockets and my wit reserves, so prepare for a tunnel blast!
I took my time to fire up this bad boy, I knew I was in for a wonderful time! The 6x6 reel setup had me feeling like I was staring into the darkness of a dim-lit mineshaft, ready to travel into the depths of mine-potential riches.
Now, if you've ever played the Quickspin slot Crystal Queen, you'll feel right at home here. But instead of breaking the ice above the reels, we're breaking ground, baby! Vibrating the ground, making noise and drilling the unexpected!
Each win nudges the reels downward, extending them up to three times for that full 6 x 6 glory. It's like watching a flower bloom, except this flower is made of cold, hard cash.
Speaking of cash, let's talk about those wild mining symbols. These bad boys only show up when you've got three matching symbols lined up horizontally or vertically. Just like playing tic-tac-toe, but instead of Xs and Os, you're dealing with symbols of gold and dynamite. 3 minimum in a row will create a dynamite that is ready to explode after the entire board is cleared up for new symbols.
When you've already got two gold nugget scatters on the reels, you'll be praying to the slot gods for that third one to drop faster than a miner's pickaxe. It is why the wild mining feature makes it very useful in situations like this!
Fire In The Hole 2 introduces a saw symbol that's sharper than my neighbor's barb tongue. This little beauty can cut symbols in half, giving more ways to win than a politician has excuses. The saw if on the same row as another can even cut the symbols into quarters! A double slice and dice!
For my personal journey into this mineshaft of madness. I entered the feature with the free spins I got from my deposit (which, between you and me, left my balance looking sadder than a canary in a coal mine......hahaha a reference to the Dead Canary slot). The bonus respins are like deja vu from the original game, but with an honored twist. The right side of the screen is now packing with crystals that can "lock" potential reels.
There are box of dynamites corresponding a number of them. If this baby hits on it's row hits with the crystal, it sticks around like that one drunken relative who overstays their welcome at family gatherings. The coins, on the other hand, are like that flaky friend who shows up twice and then ghosts you........they get awarded twice but don't stick around for the afterparty.
In my two awarded bonuses, I struck gold with wins of 62.9x and 73x. Not exactly retire-to-the-Bahamas funds, but enough to give me another shot at my convenience on Fire In The Hole 2. I'm still on the hunt for that terrific 500x screenshot, hopefully soon!
All in all, I'd give Fire In The Hole 2 a mine-blasting 8.5 out of 10. It's got more features than a Swiss army knife and more potential than a child prodigy.
