The paytable is rather disappointing, to say the least. The Wild symbol, the Trophy (which doesn’t look like one to me), doesn’t pay for itself but doubles all wins. The Ball is the Scatter symbol, which doesn’t pay for itself, except when 2 of them appears on reels 1 and 2 or on reels 4 and 5, for a 3 x total bet win. Strange. This is the first time I’ve seen such a payout for a scatter symbol. The highest paying symbol is the Player, which pays 4000 x the line bet for 5 of them. Generally, very poor win values, but because it pays both ways, only 1 star down.
The good thing about Field of Green is the 2-way payout, both left-to-right and right-to-left. The scatter symbols too count either way to trigger the free kicks feature game, but the scatter symbols must be in sequence, for example, on reels 1, 2 and 3, or on reels 3, 4 and 5. The free kicks are awarded as per the number of triggering Balls, either 3, 4 or 5. Each successful kick into the goal awards 5, 10 or 25 free spins, or cash awards of 5 x, 10 x, 15 x, 25 x, 50 x and 100 x the total bet. Interesting concept, but still 1 star down.
Honestly speaking, the crowd chanting kept my interest going, the reels were going fine most of the time, eating up lots of credits, then giving most of them back, but only because I had increased by bet per spin to catch the wins. Not bad at all, and I like it. Twice I got 30 free spins (25 + 5 spins), which paid me 80 x to 90 x my total bet, but only once I got about 110 x my total bet. Yeah, the free spins came quite often, which I enjoyed and liked, but there were also hopeless free spins payouts of less than 10 x total bet. Nothing strange actually, well within expectations. Field of Green can be a good game to play, perhaps timing and luck plays a big role. Nothing huge to win, but plenty of reasonably nice wins. 1 star up.
