Dolphin Quest Slot is an ocean-themed 50-payline video slot, running on the Microgaming software platform. Alongside the soft soundtrack, the game features beautifully designed symbols which include seahorses, crabs, turtles, and dolphins. There are 5 transparent reels set against the ocean backdrop. Players are welcome to try Dolphin Quest Slot for free, or visit any of the Microgaming Casinos found in our listings to play for real money.
Before you dive into the ocean, you are advised to regulate your bets first. “Coin size” ranges from 0.01 to 0.50, whereas the number of “coins” varies from 1 to 5. Players can select up to 50 “Lines” to bet on. Use “Autoplay” to set the reels in motion without interruption for the chosen number of times. Once you are ready, hit “Spin” and start the game.
The Wild is the Dolphin Quest logo. It may act as a substitute for any regular symbol, with the exception of the Scatter, which is the Golden Dolphin. What’s more, the Wild may occur stacked on the reels which will increase players winning chances.
The Dolphin Quest Bonus feature is triggered when you land 3 Scatters simultaneously, in any position on the reels 2, 3, and 4. This feature offers a 3-reel slot with a great winning potential. Each reel has a different prize attached and you need to stop the reel to reveal the prize you have earned.

I've had something of a soft spot for these fishy themed slots since Playtech's Great Blue gave me a taste of it's monster 15x multiplied stacked wild potential a few years ago, so I have watched with interest as other slot providers have copied it's style and mechanics. Dolphin Quest isn't a copy or clone though it does have similar symbols as well as stacked wilds on all reels. RTP is a fair bit higher than Great Blue whereas variance is much lower due to the lack of multipliers.
In fact there isn't even a free spins mode in this game - the scatters appear only on the centremost three reels and landing them all begins the "Dolphin Quest" bonus. This is a very elaborate name for what is a very simple feature - the screen swaps out to a display of three reels each with a coin value and each of them are added together at the end to give a final win. It's pretty basic, and hard to get an idea for what it's maximum win potential might be - I hit 22x, 17x and 63x my stake for each of my first three features so it seems to be fairly low scoring at least in comparison to other Microgaming bonus rounds.
For a change it seems Dolphin Quest is really all about the base game, which has a larger than average 5x4 visible reel area with 50 paylines - that's usually a high number of lines but on a larger field like this I found myself surprised quite often by onscreen combinations I felt sure would result in a win remaining stubbornly static at the end of a spin including spins with large numbers of stacked wilds - I definitely missed the 1024 ways used by the game "Leagues of Fortune" which has a similar playfield layout.
I'm a little confused by the jackpot payout in Dolphin Quest as the game declares the maximum win to be 150,000 coins however it seems as if it should be possible to score a full line of wilds on all 50 lines - as these pay 10,000 coins each I would have expected the maximum payoff to be 500,000 coins. I doubt I'll ever find out where I've gone wrong in this calculation as the game doesnt seem to be very popular with those who post screenshots on-line, and whilst I do enjoy the game there are simply too many other games that I would rather play, relegating "Dolphin Quest" to just a few occasional spins now and then.
