Crystal Quest: Arcane Tower Thunderkick

I quite like a few of Thunderkick’s games, but this provider has always remained on the cool side, by that I mean it isn’t as actively creating new games as other providers. Once in a while, players may get a new game to try out, but at other times, Thunderkick isn’t a place to stop by and play. I wish they could be more active, simply because I like their minimum 10 cents bet per spin module, which suits my small monthly gambling budget quite nicely. Longer time to play, more spins to get, and lesser deposit amounts to make.

This Crystal Quest Arcane Tower game has 6 reels and 4 rows of symbols, providing 4096 ways to win, all at a minimum starting bet requirement, whereas most other games would start at 20 cents bet per spin. The game offers several features, like increasing multipliers, cascading winning symbols, linked reels ala Twin Spin (NetEnt), and of course a free spins game, although there’s no special Bonus game, but that’s okay by me.

Everything else about this game is as expected and within the current norm – no astoundingly huge win possibilities, no indefinite number of free spins retriggers, no outstanding graphical qualities, but the game is playable enough most of the time. Winning on the game is more of a matter of luck, but getting a pleasant playing experience from it can be satisfying enough.

I’ve also played a few other ‘Crystal’ games from Thunderkick, but none has been kind to me, meaning, I have not had any big wins on any of them, and this Arcane Tower game is no exception. I’ve played it a few times already and the best win I could muster was a measly 116x my bet amount. I’ve had much bigger wins on some other Thunderkick’s game, but this is really nothing out of the ordinary I would say. Maybe my luck just wasn’t good enough on that day to get better wins.

Anyway, I have not given this Crystal Quest Arcane Tower game any more plays since then and most probably I won’t either, even though it’s not a bad game to play.

Crystal Quest: Arcane Tower is a slot game with 5 reels and 4096 ways to win that was released by Thunderkick some time ago. I was interested in trying this game when it came out for two reasons- one being the fact that I quite enjoy Thunderkick slots, and second- the fact that this game is a part of their Qrystal Quest series.

The game itself is inspired by a fantasy theme and the main characters are different crystals, And in terms of features, the game has increasing multipliers, wild symbols and a free spins bonus round. I have to say that this is one of the few games from Thunderkick where I find the base game quite exciting, not only the bonus round. And the reason for that is the fact that after every win, the winning symbols cascade and the multiplier increases. Therefore, if you get a few consecutive wins with good winning combinations, you can also get good base game wins. I haven't yet had any major base game wins, but a couple of 50x ones. And I feel like this is a game that has high volatility yet the base game gives small but frequent wins to sustain the balance, which I like. That's one of the reasons it's one of my favorites to play when low-rolling.

Aside from that, the game also offers an exciting bonus round, when you land 3 or more scatter symbols. And for 3 scatters anywhere on the reels you get to play 12 free spins. And I have to say that the free spins feature is packed with exciting stuff. First of all, same as in the base game, after every win, the winning symbols cascade and the winning multiplier increases. However, the best part is that the multiplier doesn't reset in free spins, so you can easily build a good multiplier that can only increase in the free spins. A few times I've managed to get up to a 10x multiplier and had a win over 200x bet.

Another exciting feature is the linked reels feature- before any spin a lightning feature can come up and link certain reels. That, combined with the winning multiplier feature can also end up with a good win. Also, whenever you land a wild symbol that doesn't take part in a win, it will explode and symbols close to it will explode too, which can help create new winning combinations.

All in all, I like this game a lot. It's a great game for low-rolling and whenever I play it, I feel like I'm getting my money's worth- the base game is fun due to the increasing multipliers and 4096 ways to win and the free spins are packed with features, which definitely makes it something to look forward to. My best win on this game has been around 300x bet from the free spins, but I can definitely see the winning potential, due to the multipliers that don't reset and linked reels. But so far this game hasn't given me any big losses. It's one of my favorites from Thunderkick and one of my go-to games when low-rolling.
