Cool Buck, for cool money, the latest game from Microgaming, and plays with only 9 paylines, so it's affordable for everyone to play and try it. Well, it certainly was and is for me. Just a small $20 deposit can give you a fairly long playtime, provided the game isn't in a blardy hungry mood, as it can be at times. Luckily for me, and a rarity too, this new game wasn't like a roaring hungry lion at first meet, hehehe. There is also a 3-reels version game of the same name, but I won't go into that. I'm never that fond of 3-reelers game.

With a US dollar theme, widely known as the Buck, the game has an overall greenish hue, with the very fine dollar marking lines for its background. The graphics and the colours combine quite well to give a vibrant look to the game, albeit a simple and pleasant look that should satisfy most players. Nothing outstanding of course. The logo, 'Cool Buck', is the Wild symbol in the game, paying 133.3x the total bet for getting 5 of them, which is lower than the usual. It comes Super Stacked on reels 3 and 5 in the base game, and comes Super Stacked on all reels during the free spins, for even greater winning chances. It doesn't double any wins with it, too bad, and substitutes for other symbols except for the Scatter symbol.

The Can is the Scatter symbol, paying the usual 100x total bet for 5 of them, and getting 3 or more of these Cans trigger the Free Spins game, which can also be triggered by collecting 30 or more of the 'Star' symbols. The Free Spins game triggered by the Scatters consists of only 8 free spins, if I'm not mistaken, but the Free Spins game triggered by the Stars is according to the number of Stars collected, with 30 free spins minimum. This is more interesting to get. All wins during the free spins are doubled. Can more free spins be retriggered? Oh gees, I have no idea, and it's not stated in the paytable either. I didn't get any retriggers during my plays on this game. As for the other symbols, the '$' sign pays 55.5x, the Money pays 44.4x, the BAR pays 27.7x, and the rest pay from 8.8x to 4.4x, all per total bet for getting 5 of each kind. A low paytable by normal standards, an even lower paytable for a 9-paylines game.

Well, my first play on Cool Buck wasn't that bad, although I couldn't get any win in the end. I managed to collect those required 30 Stars to trigger off the Free Spins game, twice, but the free spins only gave me a 10x and 27x bet win, far from being satisfactory. I couldn't get any 3 Scatters for a Free Spins game, until my second play on it, but I couldn't be sure now if it was 8 or 10 free spins that I got. That game didn't pay well either, only 18x my bet amount.

Honestly speaking, I like the Super Stacked Wild symbols in the game, even though I couldn't get much of it during my free spins play. Obviously, those Super Stacked Wilds would come in later plays on it, but I haven't got into it as yet. Nonetheless, what I got so far wasn't satisfactory enough for me, but I know that much bigger wins are indeed possible with those Super Stacked Wilds on all reels.
