Fishing is one of the most relaxing and at the same time exciting activities one can do. The makers of the game at Microgaming incorporated exactly those two things into Reel Strike. Test the game here for free at AskGamblers.com, before you decide to invest your money and go for the jackpot.
Theme is mostly brown in the play mode, where the frame of the reels represent fishing rods; and mostly navy blue when in payline viewing. The music blends in the whole atmosphere of this slot, nothing out of the ordinary - the sounds of the waves plus the sound of the reels spinning. In case you prefer your own music, or total peace and quiet, there is a mute button in the top right corner.
This is a 5 reel, 15 payline slot, and all wins pay from left to right. There are plenty of fish in the sea, literally speaking: Yellow Fin Tuna, Red Snapper, Flying Fish, Barracuda as well as other fishing symbols.
5 Bonus symbols on any active payline trigger the bonus feature. When the bonus round activates you will see 6 boats on the screen and you need to pick two. One has the number or free spins and the other holds the multiplier value. Wins that are shown in the bonus game are already multiplied by the line bet, and bonus wins get added to payline wins. There is a Wild symbol which substitutes for all but Scatter symbol. Scatter wins are multiplied by the number of credits.
There are two variations of how you can play this game - the regular mode and the expert mode. When playing in the expert mode you are given the autospin feature where you can choose between 5 or 10 continuous auto spins.

How about you and me going out to the open sea, just the two of us, and do some fishing? Not doing something fishy, but just doing some fishing for fishes. Interested? Nah, hah? Gees! Honestly speaking, I'm not a fisherman, nor a fishing maniac too, so how about just spending some time together and do something fishy instead? Still no hah? Oh well, never mind. I'll do my own fishing then, all by myself. See what kind of fish I can hook up with my bait. I would prefer baiting up a 2-legged fish, but that's a different story. Hmm.
Anyway, are you ready for a Reel Strike? That's what this game is all about. It's an old game, released many many years ago, followed by a recent upgraded version in 2016, entitled Reel Spinner. The 2 games are basically the same, only the icons were upgraded a bit, but not a lot though, because the overall look still doesn't come up to the current expectations. Yeah, even the newer Reel Spinner couldn't be a winner. It still looks old, and plays old!
The Reel is the Wild symbol, 5 of which pays a very nice 10,000x the line bet, if you can get them. It substitutes for other symbols except for the Scatter and Bonus symbols, but doesn't do anything else. It's another dumb Wild symbol that doesn't pay for itself, it doesn't double any wins, and it doesn't become stacked, except in the Free Spins game. The Scatter symbol pays 50x the total bet for 5 of them, which is very low, and the Bonus symbol also pays 50x the total bet for 5 of them. Why need both, I cannot figure out. 5 Bonus symbols on any active payline triggers the Bonus Feature game, which is none other than picking a boat to reveal the number of free spins, then picking another boat to reveal the multiplier. Win up to 7 free spins with up to 6x multiplier, but more free spins cannot be retriggered. Shesh! What a lousy setup! As for the symbols, the logo 'Reel Strike' pays 1000x, the Boat pays 500x, the Lever pays 500x, and the fishes pay from 300x to 100x, all per line bet for 5 of each kind. Despite the good Wild symbol value, the overall paytable is still low.
Free Spins games have always been the biggest attraction in any slot game. Without it, the game might as well be dead. In Reel Strike, the Free Spins game awards only 7 free spins, which is damn low, with a random multiplier of between 1x to 6x. Well, nothing could be worse than that! Why? Because my first Free Spins game was only 7 free spins with a 1x multiplier! What the argh! There shouldn't be any 1x multiplier at all with only 7 free spins, which should start off with at least a 5x multiplier instead. As a result, most of the Free Spins games sucked, and into my deep freezer the game got tucked!
