I had already read a little about the company “Games Warehouse” but never before I had played one of its slots, so that “Lucky's Empire” is the first of its games with which I interact.

This slot has a layout of 5 x 3 reels, it’s provided with 20 paylines, and its theme is inspired by Mafia emerged early last century in response to alcohol prohibition and, of course, all images and effects of this game revolve around elements that were part of the daily life of the capos such as guns, women, money, cars and, of course, whiskey barrels, all of them colored in grayscale to put the game in the context of the years before the cinema in full color.

The overall concept of this game is quite interesting mainly because each spin with hits during the base game entitled us to a re-spin, leaving the matching symbols in place to give us the chance to get more symbols to join these lines and thus to get better wins.

Notwithstanding all the foregoing, it is quite difficult to get a big win during the base game even forming lines of 5 of a kind because prices stipulated on the paytable are fairly tight.

So, our best chance to get a decent payout is practically concentrated on getting a bonus round, for which we need to collect 6 or more “bonus news” symbols during an initial spin and its subsequent re-spins.

Unfortunately this feature is quite difficult to be triggered and also the risk of failure when choosing the right object in each of its three stages it’s quite high, and you might finish this round with a relatively small prize; for example, in my only bonus round, I finished with a total prize of 31x my total bet after spending my three “searches” all during the second stage of my round, and at the end of my session, my balance was negative after playing for a while longer.

Summing up a little, I think “Lucky's Empire” is an interesting game with a weak paytable and perhaps on another occasion I would give it a new opportunity, I hope that by then “Lady Luck” will be sitting beside me sharing a glass of good whiskey.
