In this Honey Rush slot review, we will delve into the mechanics and features and guide you on how to play Honey Rush. So, buckle up as we embark on an adventure through the sweet and enticing world of Honey Rush.
Overview of Honey Rush Game
The Honey Rush slot machine isn't a typical Play'n GO video slot; it brings new and entertaining features with its hexagonal design. The overall experience is filled with surprises and functions that complement each other.
To play Honey Rush, you must know that in lieu of typical reels and rows, the grid is actually comprised of hexagons, and there’s a cluster pays mechanic. Colony features and Sticky Wilds with Multipliers are its two most engaging features.
Landing five or more identical symbols adjacent to each other will lead to a win. The most valuable symbol is the diamond, followed by the gold, silver, and bronze coins. Symbols of higher value will reward you with payouts ranging from 50x to 200x your bet for achieving winning combinations with 35 symbols in a group.
The lower-paying symbols are various flowers, paying 20x your bet for creating a winning combination with 35 symbols in a group.
The Wild symbol is a honey jar, and this slot doesn't feature a Scatter as it lacks Free Spins.
Honey Rush RTP, Payout and Volatility
Honey Rush RTP ranges from 84.50% to 96.50%, depending on the casino site. It has high volatility, so you should play with patience.
The maximum win in the Honey Rush slot is 9,000x your bet. Although not the highest win we've come across, it’s still pretty decent.
Honey Rush Graphics and Gaming Experience
The theme transports you to a beautiful forest where the reels are designed like a honeycomb. The branches of a giant tree are visible beneath the reels, with background vegetation completing the scene. Brown and green colours dominate the colour palette, creating a backdrop that allows the forest theme to stand out appropriately.
The reels feature colourful and vibrant symbols that easily catch the eye. The background music is incredibly chill, and the animations of group wins and falling symbols are well-executed. In summary, the theme is simple yet highly effective.
Honey Rush Bonus Features
Fantastic features of the Honey Rush slot are cascading symbols, the Rush Meter, and Worker Colony. Winning groups of symbols disappear, and new symbols cascade from above to fill all empty positions.
The Rush Meter is the heart of this slot. Each winning symbol increases the meter value by one. You can reach up to four levels by filling the meter in a single spin.
You'll receive a Sticky Wild for each level from one to three on the Rush Meter. These Sticky Wilds come with multipliers ranging from 1x to 3x and will shift positions whenever they are part of a winning combination. Moreover, their multipliers multiply with each other if they contribute to the same win.
The Wilds will remain sticky until no more wins or pending Colony features exist.
Honey Rush Worker Colony Feature
Three Worker Colony functions are activated when there are no wins on the reels. Here are their details.
- Drone Colony Function: Activated through the Rush Meter, it turns all symbols around the centre symbol to match it, creating a minimum cluster of seven symbols.
- Worker Colony Function: Randomly activated on any non-winning spin, rewarding you with a cluster of seven to 15 identical symbols matching the centre symbol.
- Queen Colony Function: Activated through the Rush Meter at the final level. It rewards you with a cluster of 20 to 37 identical symbols matching the centre symbol. These matching symbols can cover the entire grid, resulting in a big win.

Honey Rush is one of the very latest games from Play n Go software provider and being a fan of their work, I was very curious about this new game, especially since it was much different than other slots they have.
First of all, I really enjoy the design of a bee nest, I think it's a bit clever to release something sunny and warm-looking during winter time. As always, the graphics were on point. Another thing I like is that this slot doesn't have a typical bonus feature of free spins, so you need to focus on the base game at all times, which reminds me of Reactoonz and their Gargantoon feature, which in this case is the bee colony feature.
I've played this game a couple of times now and one thing I have to say- I really think it's a very volatile slot. I think it has the possibility to give big wins but I've personally experienced over 50 dead or nearly 0x win spins due to the fact that you need to get winning combinations using surrounding symbols, therefore, the paylines are more difficult to achieve. In order to get to the major bonus feature, you need to fulfill the meter of wins 4 times, which is quite a difficult task in reality. I've had one session where I managed to get to the second stage once, for the rest of the session I couldn't even get that far and therefore my balance would die entirely. What happens in the second "stage" is that a few symbols are turned into other symbols and a wild multiplier is added on the reel, and it really reminds me of Jammin Jars as the wild symbol will move around in order to create more winning combinations. The problem of achieving the massive bee colony where many or even all symbols will be turned into one and you still have a wild multiplier on the screen, is that you need to fulfill all fo the win stages with getting consecutive spins, just like Reactoonz. Last time I played this game I was very excited as I thought I would get the final feature, however, to my disappointment, the meter was only 2 points away! And it makes a huge difference, as my 75x bet win could have turned into several hundred times bet win.
Overall I really enjoy the concept of this game and I'm sure it has great winning potential. But with that being said, I think it's a game you should be careful with as it can be quite difficult to get a decent base game hit unless you're on the 3rd or last stage of getting the bonus, due to multipliers. I will play it more as I love the design and simplicity of this game.
