Meter has 4 charge level and holds up to 100 charges. Level one, Disintegration, requires 25 charges, level 2, Metamorphosis, requires 50 charges, level 3, Radiation, requires 75 charges, and last one, level four, Grgantoonz requires 100 charges.
Disintegration will remove all the instances of 4 randomly selected symbols. Metamorphosis will randomly transform all instances of one symbol into a different symbol of the same kind, including mega symbols. Radiation will add between 1 and 4 Mega symbols, and between 2 and 5 Quantum Wilds randomly.
Gargantoon
Grgantoonz plays out in 2 steps, one after the other once the wins conclude. All Mega symbols that happen to be on the grid will turn into Mega Grgantoonz. At least 3 Mega Grgantoonz will appear regardless of how many Mega symbols you’ve got on the grid, and they will not get removed with wins. Moreover, between 2 and 4 1x1 Grgantoonz will also appear. Second step will break down the Mega Grgantoonz into 1x1 sized Grgantoonz, which will get removed from the grid normally.
Summary
After two sets of Reactoonz, we get to play Gigantoonz now, and they seem better than ever, even though we were not so convinced at the beginning. It’s a perfect balance of the previous two games in the series with some cool changes that make this game highly playable, and immensely enjoyable. Gigantoonz slot is a cluster-pays slot from Play'n Go that was released earlier last year. I have to say, when I first heard about this game I was really looking forward to it, as it was inspired by the Reactoonz slot, as a continuation to their Reactoonz and Reactoonz 2 slots. And Reactoonz being one of my all time favorite Play'n Go games, I was expecting to really enjoy this release. But unfortunately that wasn't the case.
Visually, as always with Play'n Go games, Gigantoonz has vibrant colors and different alien-looking characters. However, in this game, they can have a different number on them, meaning how many symbols there are. It's important as in this game you need at least a cluster of 6 symbols for a winning combination. I'll be honest- the first few times I played Gigantoonz I felt extremely confused- I was getting these massive symbols but no wins. Only after reading game rules I realized that the massive symbol counts only as 1 symbol, but if it has a number on it, it counts as the number it has, but only if it's a part of a winning cluster. And this game can easily give you 20-30 spins without single wins or wins below your bet size, so in terms of volatility, I'd say it's very high.Â
Then there are a few meters, just like the original Reactoonz slot. For example, in the base game you can get random wilds added after a non winning spin, which can help to get some winning combinations. Once you've collected 25 symbols, you get the disintegration, which will remove 4 symbols. Then once you get to 50 collected symbols, you get metamorphosis which changes one symbol into a matching different symbol.Then the last feature is once you reach 75 symbol mark- you get a few wilds added to the reels as well as 1 to 4 mega symbols. Then, once you have collected 100 symbols, you'll get the Gigantoonz feature where several gigantoonz symbols are added to the reels. I have to say, getting to the Gigantoonz feature isn't easy and I've had some sessions where I don't see it in over 500 spins. And once I have actually triggered it, so far I haven't had a single win over 60x bet. I've had several Gigantoonz features that pay even as little as 30x so I haven't yet experienced any major wins.
Overall I'm quite disappointed with this release and in my opinion it doesn't stand close to the original Reactoonz game. The base game still feels confusing as you can get massive symbols yet no wins. Also, since you need to get consecutive wins to fill the meter, it can be difficult to get the Gigantoonz feature. And from my experience so far, the payouts are very low. All in all, I don't plan to play it much going forward.
