Royal Mint Megaways is a megaways game from big Time Gaming game provider that was released earlier this year. I had first heard about it on a forum as some casino streamers were having a discussion about it, so for many players it seemed to be quite anticipated release, and I was interested in the game simply because I do enjoy several BTG games and this one seemed to have an interesting potential.
The game itself is very simple in its design - there are number symbols as well as jewels, and a free spins bonus round as the only feature. However similar to Lil Devil this game has a collectible feature where for 40 symbols collected, you unlock an advanced free spins round. However, this is a feature I have very mixed feelings about. Basically, when you get scatter symbols in the base game that create the word MINT, you will get 8 free spins with cascading increasing multipliers after a win, as well as possibility to retrigger the feature just like in Bonanza. I've had this feature a few times but it's rather hard to get these scatter symbols and for the most part I'd get 2 or 3 scatter teasers.Â
Regardless, what makes the advanced free spins bonus appealing is the fact that after each cascading win, the multiplier increases by 2x. But from my experience with this game, this feature is very overrated. First of all, to even trigger it, 40 times you need to collect the letters MIN in base game and it can take a lot of time. The first time I tried this game and wanted to reach this feature, it took me 3 hours and nearly 100eur balance with minimum stakes, which are 20 cents, for a payout of 100x bet. But the second time the advanced feature paid less than 50x bet, so I ended up with a loss.
Overall, I think that this game is a decent option for wagering but only if it's in a good mood, as it can give base game wins of 50x bet. However, at the same time it can be quite harsh and it can take forever to trigger the bonus round which is a very volatile one. After playing it a few times, I won't be playing it anymore, the game certainly has potential for big wins but the disappointment from the bonus round average payouts I've had makes me really dislike it.

A slot from Big Time Gaming based on the Royal Mint which produces gold products. You can play it for as little as 0.20 per spin thus it is fine for those on a small gaming budget and the slot comes with your standard 6 reels and 117,649 ways which is the most common type of Megaways slot produced.
There is a free spins feature that this slot comes with and it is triggered by getting the symbols MINT to appear on the reels and this gives you 12 free spins with an increasing multiplier going up by 1x each time you get a win during the feature. However there is also an enhanced feature if you have finished collecting all the 40 bars door symbols but only after you trigger it again, while this time you will only need the INT as the M symbol is already saved for you at the end 40th gold bar.
How was my experience on this slot, well I can tell you it took a very long time to get all the 40 bars plus the last MINT? During this time I had 5 normal features as well. The best feature was the enhanced feature which happens to be the 6th feature for me on this game. That paid just under 100x, ok it was 93x. Not far from 100x but still under and I don’t know if I will want to go through the gold bar collecting again as it takes so many spins to complete this quest. The average feature has been 39x and the lowest 4x. I would have to say this slot is not for me and probably not for most people. But it has to be said that Big Time Gaming knows how to keep players spinning on a slot by locking them into a quest to play for the enhanced feature, otherwise it wouldn’t be worth it. During the enhanced feature you get still 10 spins to start but each win gives you x2 increase of the multiplier. By the way, the best base win was 60x.
Collecting the bars takes many hundreds of spins and it took me 2453 spins to finally get all the 40 collected. After collecting the 40 bars you still need to trigger the feature again to get the enhanced feature. Normal features pay small at least they did for me, a couple of them well under 10x. The longest number of spins between features was a whopping 875. And the average was 409.
