Jolly Roger's Jackpot is 5 reels and 50 pay-lines video slot powered by Rival software provider. This slot is inspired with the pirate life. The slot has a nice intro to the story. The reels are transparent, and they are set against a backdrop of some pirate hideout on an island. There is a captain set on the left hand side from the reels. Give this slot a free spin here or visit any of the Rival Casinos to play for real money.
Before you enter this hideout, you should set your bet. By clicking on "+/-" you can set the coins size which ranges from 0.01 to 0.25. The number of lines can be set by clicking on "Select Lines". "Bet Max" sets the maximum bet and starts turning the reels automatically. "Auto" will turn the reels automatically without interruption but it is available only when playing for real money, and "Spin" will set the reels in motion.
The Wild symbol in the game is the mustachioed Pirate, and it can expand to fill an entire reel when it is possible to make a winning combo. Expanding Wilds appear only on reels 1, 3 and 5. Regular Wild can substitute for any other symbol in the game to form a winning line.
The Pirate Ship and the Female Pirate are the bonus symbols in the game. If you land 3 or more Pirate Ship symbols you will trigger the bonus mini-game where you will get 3 shots to hit 3 ships. Once hit, ships will release some treasure which you then must collect.
If you land 3 Female Pirates scattered on the reels you will trigger Free Spins feature. The number of spins depend on the number of scatters, and you can win 10, 20 or 50 spins. All wins will be subjected to x3 multiplier, and it is possible to re-trigger the feature.

Ah! I do like playing Pirates themed games, even though most of the current games are cartoon based, but rather pretty cartoonish symbols, I must say. One of the best-looking pirate games is the Ghost Pirates, very colourful and very nicely presented. This Jolly Rogers 50-paylines game from Rival looks just as good too, but with less vibrancy in the colours and overall presentation. The graphics could be better, but I still like its looks.
I would have expected Jolly Rogers to be the Wild symbol in this game, but it isn't. Instead, it's the Moustached Pirate that is the Wild symbol. Typically with most Rival games, the Wild symbol is a dumb symbol, appearing only on reels 1, 3 and 5, not paying anything for itself, not doubling any wins with it, but it does expand into a Wild Reel with wins. It also substitutes for other symbols except the Scatter and the Bonus symbols. That gorgeous Lady Pirate is the Scatter symbol, but is like the dumb Wild symbol too in not paying anything for itself. Getting 3, 4 or 5 of her triggers 10, 20 or 50 free spins with all wins tripled, and the Free Spins game can be retriggered too. Ah, nice! As for the other symbols in the game, Jolly Rogers pays 5000x the line bet for getting 5 of him, whilst the other symbols pay from 800x to 65x the line bet for getting 5 of each kind. A low paytable nonetheless.
The Ship is the Bonus symbol, the third dumb symbol in the game, and getting 3 or more of them triggers a Bonus Round. Arm your cannons and prepare to shoot down ships and collect prizes! You have 3, 4 or 5 shots to do it. Pick out one ship at a time as they roll by, aim the target at the ship, and fire away. Then pick up all those valuables in the water to win cash prizes. Surprisingly enough, this Bonus Round can produce some very good wins indeed. In one game, I shot down 3 ships and won 192x my bet amount, probably the biggest bonus award I've come across in any Bonus game. On other times, the prizes would be around 25x to 45x the total bet amount, which are not too bad really.
This is one pirate game that I enjoyed playing, and one game that gave me a fairly good win too. My best win came from one of the Free Spins games, got a nice Bonus Round within the free spins too, and finally paying a good win of 293x my bet amount. If I had a retrigger in that game, that would have boosted my win even bigger. Just too bad it didn't happen, but retriggers did happen in a few other Free Spins games. Jolly Rogers Jackpot is one of the better games from Rival software, and there isn't many of such games from Rival, that much I can say.
