Holmes and the Stolen Stones is a progressive video slot powered by Yggdrasil Gaming software with 5 reels and 20 pay-lines. The idea hiding behind this slot is one and only Sherlock Holmes. The slot gives you plenty of features to earn big, and there are some amazing features. The gameplay is followed by Victorian soundtrack, and the reels are set in some London alley. Before you start your investigation, you are advised to set your bets. By clicking on "Coin Value +/-" you can set coins size which ranges from the uncommonly 0.01 to 2. "Max Bet" is used to set the maximum bet allowed, and "Spin" sets the reels in motion. "Autoplay" option is used to turn the reels automatically without interruption for a chosen number of times.
The game has no Wild symbols but there is a Bonus symbol and a Scatter. Rusty bluish keyhole is the Bonus symbol, and of you hit 3 or more of them you will trigger the Bonus round. Once triggered you will be taken to a warehouse with stacks of boxes you need to pick. You will continue on picking until you run into a smoke bomb which ends the feature. By picking boxes you can find cash prizes or diamond shard which are transferred to the base game once the feature ends.
Golden keyhole is the Scatter symbol and if you land 3 or more of them you will activate Free Spins feature. Once activated you will be awarded with 10 spins. Also, free spins can be triggered if you manage to collect 5 matching shards. Five shards make a diamond, and if you collect five diamonds of the same color you will win the jackpot.

Lucrative bonus game
When you get the free spins there is a chance to get a diamond on reel 1, 2,3,4 and 5. However, the probability of getting the 5th diamond on the reel (i.e. winning the jackpot) seems to be almost non-existent. I have had about 50 chances to hit the last diamond in the free spins game and didn’t hit one. I think this makes the game lack transparency. You get the feeling that you are close to the jackpot while in reality you are not.
