I’ve never been a big fan of clusters-pay kind of game, but that doesn’t stop me from trying them out once in a while. PlaynGo has got several of these kind of games and I’ve tried out many of them, but none seems to really catch my interest. Why? Simply because I’ve never got any big wins from any of them, hahaha. Perhaps I may love them too, if and when I do get nice big wins, as the other game lovers have.

HammerFall is a very high volatility game, playing with 7 reels and 7 rows, but with a reasonable 20 cents starting bet, which makes it affordable to play for small budget players like me. As in all other clusters-pay game, the main attraction lies in its big winning potentials, which in this case is a maximum possible win of 30,000x the bet. Now that can make a huge win indeed, but only if you can get it. Don’t get your hopes high though, because a maximum win is always the once-in-a-lifetime kind, and only very lucky players may ever get them!

PlaynGo games always have great graphics, which makes their games very appealing and nice to look at, but never easy to win from. From my several attempts on this game so far, the best win I could get is only 117x, way below my expectations, and way below a desired mega win of at least 500x. Perhaps I need to spin many more thousand times before I can ever get one. Pimped and Holiday Season have given such wins to me, many times already so far, so it should be possible for HammerFall to do likewise as well, but those two games aren’t the clusters-pay kind but the Guaranteed Win Free Spins kind.

To win on this game, you need to get those clusters wins, with as many same symbols as possible, especially during any of the special features, which may be randomly activated, or triggered by filling up the Charge Meter. Win Multipliers are always in action during these spins, and that’s how big wins can be achieved.

HammerFall is an entertaining and fun game to play, always exciting and thrilling, but only if you happen to play it in its good paying mode. Otherwise, be prepared for losses and angry moments, hahaha.

Hammerfall is a relatively new game release that I discovered just a couple of months ago. The game was created by Play'n Go game provider, which is one of my favorites when it comes to slots due to their interesting bonus features and exquisite design. And Hammerfall certainly lives up to the high expectations I always have for Play'n Go game designs, however, when it comes to features- unfortunately I'm not really impressed.

I've had a few sessions with this game so far and it feels like it's a game that rarely gives big wins. The slot itself is inspired by the Mythology theme and has a cluster pays mechanic, which I do enjoy. To get a winning combination, you need to have a cluster of at least 5 symbols and that can be quite difficult. However, what you really want to see is as many consecutive wins as possible- similar to Reactoonz game, this slot has a hammer meter that charges with every winning combination. Once you get over 25 symbols, it activates the Song feature. Depending on the world you're in you can get either a 2x2 wild symbol,a feature that turns all premium symbols into matching ones or a feature that removes all lower paying symbols. However, collecting 25 symbols can definitely be hard and oftentimes it doesn't even happen within more than a 100 spins. And if you manage to charge the hammer with 50 symbols, you trigger the bonus round.

The bonus round itself can be underwhelming- while I've read that the game can pay up to 30000x bet wins, I can barely get over 100x bet. In the bonus round you get one spin and all 3 features are activated one after another- 2x2 wild, symbol destruction as well symbol removal and adding matching symbols to the reels. It can definitely take a while to get to the bonus round and my best win so far has only been a 200x bet win.

However, what I do like about this game is the fact that in the base game you can get a random feature, such as wilds added to the screen, low paying symbols turned into a matching low paying symbol and others. That's one of the things I enjoy as otherwise the base game can give lots of dead spins. Also similar to Reactoonz, there are a few highlighted tiles on every spin, and if you get a win that includes them, they turn into wilds. That combined makes the base game more interesting.

Overall I have mixed feelings about this game. I really like the game design and the game is definitely feature rich and there's a lot happening. But that being said, most of the time the features give low payouts and the bonus round can take a while to trigger. In my experience this game can easily take 50 eur balance with minimum bets without a single 50x bet win so it's a game I don't play too often these days.

Hammer fall with its 3 song features by Play'n Go remind me of Testament video slot. You also get song features there for landing 2 scatters anywhere on the reel. So I think Hammer fall has a combination of Golden Osiris and testament together in one.

The base gameplay is exactly like Golden Osiris, with an 8x8 grid and multipliers. You need to collect a specific amount of symbols to activate a base game feature, however, if you collect double the feature trigger, you enter the free spins unlike Golden Osiris have scatter symbols. You will find many different crystal symbols on the reels and getting 5 symbols in form of a cluster generates wins. The knight is the highest value symbol which will award x500 your total bet for 5 of a kind.

On the grid, you will see glowing tiles and when you land a winning combination with symbols on the tiles, you will be awarded a wild symbol and a multiplier to it. You can randomly get anything from x1 up to 10x multipliers. If you get like 4 clustered symbols on 4 tiles next to each other, you in for payday, provided you get decent multipliers. The game works on a cascade, where new symbols drop once a cluster-winning combination has been generated.
On non-winning spins you can randomly be awarded one of the following:
- Never Forgive, Never Forgive: 1 symbol is selected and pulls all other instances of it towards it, destroying symbols in its path.
- Bring It: Destroys all high-pay symbols or transforms them into matching high-pay symbols.
- One Against the World: a Symbol is chosen, and all symbols adjacent to this type are transformed or destroyed.
- Chain of Command: Creates a chain of symbols on the grid and either transforms them into the same symbol or destroys them.

If you collect 25 symbols in winning combinations, you will activate one of the following 3 song features.
- Twilight Princess: 2x2 mega wild symbol is placed anywhere on the reels
- Second to none – Transform all premium symbols into the same premium symbol.
- Yet I smile – All lower value symbols are removed from the grid.

The song features help you generate extra wins and once you collect 50 winning symbols in the hammer meter you trigger the free spins feature. You are awarded 1 free spin where all song features are activated in the same spin. Hoping to get big wins, you need the multipliers and the best possible premium symbol during the Second to None feature.

This slot is of high variance with x30 000 your total bet winning potential, but not my cup of tea really.
