Again our survival is threatened by the arrival on our planet of aliens of strange appearance, fortunately among us they inhabit certain individuals who possess supernatural powers and are always ready to sacrifice themselves to save our civilization, and they are the ones called “Super Heroes.”

On October 24 “Yggdrasil Gaming” made an important addition to its portfolio of video slots; it is an action-packed game by which this developer gives gamblers the opportunity to live one of the most intense experiences a game of this type can offer.

The name of this game is “Super Heroes” slot, which has a structure of 5 x 3 reels and is provided with 20 pay lines.

Prices on the paytable of this slot have a particularity, and it is that high symbols generate relatively modest payouts; however, other aspects of this game are aimed at countering the effects caused by the matter of prices; among these aspects we have a quite active wild symbol, a relatively small number of ordinary symbols (8 in total) and finally, an array of special features that concentrate most of the emotion of this game.

Essentially they are two special features, “Super Hero Feature” and “Free Spins Mode.” In the first, we found 5 different Super Heroes during the base game and one more that joins them during the free spins round.

Each hero has special powers that are activated at any time during the base game to deliver instant prizes, stacked wilds, scattered wilds, multipliers, or change the image of some ordinary symbols to guarantee us a hit. Each hero may appear with a level of anger between 1 and 4 randomly and higher the level, higher the force used on the reels.

Free spins is a short round of 4, 5 or 7 spins depending on the number of scatters we get, but this is a very strong feature because in each of these turns two heroes appear doing what they know, and here, each hero starts with a level 1 of anger increasing 1 point for each time he or she is called to fight; the highest level is 4, and the higher their anger level, the greater their display of force on the reels. By the way, during free games, a new heroine appears and this is the one in charge of granting additional free spins.

What I see here it is a slot with great potential to generate profits because during my first long session I managed to get my balance survive losing streaks without many problems and then, I always received good rewards during free spins, rewards in many cases ranged between 170x and 255x my total bet; nothing bad from my view.

I usually start to play at the lowest bet levels, so I left the game only with $60 in profits. I consider it appropriate to say that few times my balance was below my starting point, so that I never really felt much pressure in the economic aspect, and instead I had a lot of fun by playing this slot.

For me, “Super Heroes” slot is one of the best releases carried out during this month of October, so I think this is a game not to be missed.

I've got big expectations whenever I try a new Yggdrasil slot these days, I've been impressed with the vast majority of their games that I have played and I'm often even reluctant to try their new games in free play mode now as I don't want to spoil the surprises for when I come to try the slot for real money! It takes a lot for me to ditch my established playing patterns but Yggdrasil really has managed it with their excellent releases.

I've played a lot of super hero themed games over the years too and this is a concept that surely anybody can come up with a winner with, but I have to say so far this game hasn't really caught my imagination much. The heroes themselves look kind of generic to me and I had no real interest in learning who was who, meaning I was never really sure who I had levelled up during the bonus round and who I hadn't. I ended up remembering them purely by colour as I expect many players will, and that's a far cry from when I play The Avengers or X-Men, for example.

I was also a little disappointed that you only get four free spins in return for three scatter symbols, although they do often pay out quite well and you do get seven spins for five scatters but I've never even had four yet despite several hundred spins on the game. I know, I know, more than three scatters is of course very rare but still, I do often see four a couple of times during a long session!

Of the heroes, Raven (the red one...lol) has been my favourite thanks to turning three reels into stacked wilds for me which awarded me a very tasty win, but all of the heroes have some potential and I liked the fact the hero features can activate randomly during the base game - even at their highest level - as well as during the bonus round.

This isn't Yggdrasil's best game I don't think, although the company is offering a big promotion based around the game at the moment so I'm going to be trying it out plenty more yet I'm sure. It's a solid slot all the same and worth trying, just maybe not quite up to the high standards set by this developer in the past.
