Editor's View

TonyBet may have changed names and ownership over the years, but it’s been a sports betting site that punters have known for 20 years.

The site covers most major sports, has some decent ongoing offers, and has embraced new additions to the online sports betting world like esports, Bet Builders and Cash Outs.

In other ways, it neglects a few key areas. Like snubbing live streaming, offering a welcome offer that’s not quite what it seems, and not giving horseracing and greyhound betting fans the chance to bet on those sports.

But in this TonyBet review, let’s look in greater depth at their pros and cons.

General Information and Safety Details About TonyBet

First called OmniBet when it launched in 2003, it changed its name to TonyBet when acquired by legendary Lithuanian/Australian poker player Antanas ‘Tony’ Guoga, also known as Tony G.

It was sold to the Betsson Group in 2016 but as of 2022 it acquired its own Estonian iGaming license to operate in the EU and is no longer part of the Betsson Group. It’s headquartered in Lithuania.

TonyBet Payments and Withdrawals

There’s plenty of choice when it comes to making a deposit at TonyBet. In addition to Visa and Mastercard, accepted at just about any of the best new betting sites, you can also choose from nine different e-wallets or pre-paid cards: Paysafecard, Skrill, Neteller, Rapid, Neosurf, AstroPay, Payz, Cash to Code and Jeton. Additionally, you can deposit using cryptocurrencies.

Of these, e-wallets are the quickest, taking no more than 15 minutes at most, while deposits with the debit cards or cryptocurrencies can take up to 24 hours to go through.

All the above methods are also available as TonyBet withdrawal options. In the case of withdrawals, the quicker methods (e-wallets and pre-paid cards) should be processed within 24-48 hours while those done with debit cards and cryptocurrencies can take a day or so longer.

TonyBet Customer Service and User Experience

We’ve looked at deposits and withdrawals and know that placing bets at TonyBet online is the easy bit. But what about the rest?

First up, you’ll need to open a TonyBet account. After clicking on the Sign-Up button, you’ll need to enter a few personal details, choose a username and password for your TonyBet log in and confirm which currency you want to play in. Here, you can opt-in to communications about getting promotions and other offers.

When conducting this TonyBet bookie review, we found the site was easy to use and adopted the traditional Sportsbook design. All the sports are listed on the left-hand column, with the different products (Sportsbook, Casino, Live Casino) displayed at the top and links to useful pages, like TonyBet betting rules, at the bottom.

If you need Customer Service assistance, clicking on the Contact Us tab at the bottom will take you to a page where you can provide your contact details and write a message explaining what went wrong or what you need help with. You can also contact TonyBet support via phone or Live Chat.

When reading the TonyBet Customer Reviews we noticed the complaints are generally about the time and difficulty involved in making withdrawals.

Lastly, our TonyBet app review found that whether you’re using an Android or iOS device, it worked well, allowing you to do everything else you’d do on your laptop/desktop, wherever you are.

TonyBet’s Best Offers

Of course, there’s a TonyBet sign up offer up for grabs. You can get a free bet worth 100% of your first deposit up to £/Є100, but you’ll have to wager five times that amount in order to get your TonyBet bonus.

Additionally, the free bet must be placed on a multi containing at least three selections (no minimum odds requirement) and if it goes on to win, only profits are paid to you, with the free bet itself not being returned. So, you can see how it's not a great welcome offer compared to what some other betting sites are giving away.

At least there are other bonuses to look forward to. You can claim a £/Є10 free bet every week when making a new deposit, boost your acca payout by adding extra selections to it, compete against other TonyBet customers to win free bets and take part in their Sport VIP Program where the more you play, the more you’ll get.

Betting Features Available at TonyBet

Here are some of their betting features on offer:

View all the current in-running betting events in one place, divided by sport, by clicking on the Live Betting tab at the top of the homepage.

Analytics – top-line stats relating to popular betting markets- are available within the event to help you make good betting decisions, on almost all football matches.

Cash Out betting is available across numerous betting markets on different sports.

Most Popular Sports at TonyBet

As is so often the case with most betting sites, football is their number 1 sport. You’ll do well to find a match being played in the men’s professional game that isn’t covered by them, with selected youth, reserve and women’s football also featuring to a lesser extent.

Though not quite as comprehensive as at other sites, their Bet Builder product is good enough for football. By that we mean you can include selections from all of the most popular markets. But not to the same extent as other Sportsbooks where there’s just that extra bit of variety such as more player stats markets, or the numbers of goals, corners or cards.

Given that TonyBet is also big in the Baltics, it’s no surprise that the likes of basketball and ice hockey are important sports for them, as well. Fans of esports betting and motorsports will also be pleased with their coverage.

TonyBet’s Commitment to Responsible Gambling

TonyBet offers a self-assessment test to see if you may have a gambling problem and an explanation of the different on-site tools available to ensure you’re gambling responsibly. These include deposit limits, limits on net losses and self-exclusion, either on a temporary or permanent basis.

The page also includes links to some well-known organizations, such as GamCare and Gambling Therapy, if you feel you need some specialised support and guidance.

Final Verdict on TonyBet

There are a handful of things to like about TonyBet. These include a strong football, basketball, esports and ice hockey offering, competitive odds, a decent Bet Builder product, sufficient payment options, and a betting site and app that are easy to use.

But it isn’t without a few flaws and TonyBet ratings are on the low side when it comes to other areas.

Given this is a sportsbook that has been around for almost 20 years, lack of experience or time to rectify matters is certainly not the reason.

Whereas a somewhat poor value welcome offer is just down to a marketing decision, the absence of horseracing and greyhound betting, as well as the lack of any live streaming at all, are symptoms of a sportsbook that either has limited budgets or has just chosen not to cover all bases. They’re a decent Sportsbook as things stand, but there’s also plenty of room for improvement.
