Munchers is a video slot powered by NextGen Gaming software with 5 reels and 25 pay-lines. The theme is a foul greenhouse filled with weed, carnivorous plants and creepy looking insects. This horrid and bleak looking greenhouse features symbols such as gardening gloves, a spider, a weird looking red-eyed insect, a fork and trowel, and high card values. Hit the reels here for free or visit any of the NextGen Gaming Casinos to play for real money.
Before you enter this dreadful greenhouse you need to adjust your bets. First set of "+/-" starting from left to right, are used to set the number of lines. Next to them there is another set of "+/-" buttons which are used to set coins size that ranges from 0.01 to 2. "Gamble" activates the gamble feature, and "Autoplay" and it is used to set the reels in motion without interruption for a desired number of times. "Spin" button is used to spin the reels.
Despite the creepy atmosphere filled with insects, this video slot offers interesting game-play even though it does not have many bonus features. While playing Munchers, you can encounter a Wild symbol, a Scatter, Free Spins bonus round, and a Gamble feature.
The Wild symbol in the game is the carnivorous plant, and it can act as the substitution for any other symbol in the game except for the scatter. If you hit 2 or more of these horrific plants on an active pay-line, it will form its own winning combos.
The Scatter in the game is a red watering can with green dots. If you land 2 or more scatter symbols anywhere on the reels you will form scatter wins, and are all multiplied by the total amount staked. However, if you hit 3 or more scatters you will activate Free Spins bonus round.
Once you activate Free Spins game you will be rewarded with 10 free spins. During this feature, the wild symbol will become an expanded wild. The plant comes out of the pot and turns the reel entirely wild. Regrettably, this bonus round offers no multipliers and it cannot be re-triggered.
The Gamble feature can be activated each time you land a winning combo by clicking on the "Gamble" button. Here you stand to double or quadruple your winnings. If you guess the color of the card you will double the winnings, and if you guess the suit your winnings will be quadrupled. If you make a wrong guess you will lose everything and you will be taken back to the base game. You are limited to 5 correct picks.

Munchers is a 25 payline, 5 reel slot game coming from NextGen Gaming. This slot is a mixture between creepy and fun. The theme is set in some botanical garden where the main character is a carnivore and eats whatever lands on him and it seems that flies are his favorite meal.
If you take a look at the paytable you won’t be too impressed. The fly is the highest paying symbol with a payout of 1500 coins for a win of 5 of them on a winning payline. The Muncher is the wild symbol in this game and doesn’t offer any multiplier in the base play or in the bonus round. This is a great setback in the game and combined with the poor paytable I don’t think you can have some big wins here. The scatter symbol is the water can and 5 of them on the reels bring a win of 100 x total bet. An advantage is that 2 of them at least double your bet.
From the bonus round this game offers only a free spins bonus. If you manage to hit 3 scatters on the reels you are awarded with 10 free spins. The strangest thing is that the free spins don’t have any multiplier attached or can be retriggered. At least one of these options would be great for some bigger wins. During the free spins under every reel there is a Muncher plant which can expand to eat up the entire reel and turn it wild. In theory if you get 2, 3 or more plants to come up for dinner you can have some really great wins.
Still if you play this game you will see that in the free spins bonus the biggest number of plants to come up is two, let alone 3 or more. I have played this game lots of times and never got 3 reels of wilds. In the bonus round I usually have wins of 20-30 x bet which is too little so I just stopped playing this game anymore.
